Windows 98 problem
    #2138448 - 11/26/03 06:46 PM (13 years, 7 months ago)

It's not a hard one, and it has something to do with a NIC, but i googled it and followed the instructions i found (they were all the same)

during start up i get a message saying
-VNETSUP.VXD
-VREDIR.VXD
-DFS.VXD
and
MSNP32.DLL

are all missing, i extracted them from my 98 setup disc, and put them in the right folder, but still same trouble....

I'm thinking remove unistall NIC, remove it phsycally, then reinstall?

any other suggestions?

Had to remove and reinstall hardware all the time w/ 98. Go for it. Also lots of reinstalling and the occational clean install.

Yes, if you want to keep running Win98, reformatting and reinstalling should be done at least once a year. By the way, I saw on the Microsoft site that they will be discontinuing further support for '98 this January.
