boot up screen resolution problem

I've had a problem with my PC for a long time but I dunno what I can do.
About 30% of the time when I boot up Windows (98) comes on in the big cheezy 640 resolution. When this happens I just reboot and it always comes back the right resolution (1024 x 768). Is there anything I can do to fix this and make it always boot up to the right resolution first time?

Go to my computer, then disply i believe. Inside there you can pick your resolution.

If your machine is starting in safe mode, i believe it autos to 640x480.

I know how to change the resolution, it's set. If what's happening is sometimes it randomly boots up in safe-mode then how do I stop it doing that?

Download a free unix and install it instead. If your problem doesn't go away, then it was both hardware and software.

update your graphics driver.. it is probably for another windows version. also scan for mal-ware
