Re: what's your favorite horror movie? [Re: pachoo]

OK guys let's talk horror shows.
Tales from the Crypt:  Carrion Death, For Cryin' Out Loud, Three's a Crowd, Cutting Cards, All Through the House, probably some others.
Masters of Horror:  OK I'll admit there were a couple of stinkers in this series but oh man are there some EPIC gems of horror in it, too.  "Cigarette Burns" is my favorite of the bunch, the absolute end of the world.  Skip "We All Scream for Ice Cream," it's the worst thing ever made.
American Horror Story is garbage IMO.  Watched the first season, gave up.
Are You Afraid of the Dark was my major horror influence when I was younger.  I would record the episodes on SNICK on the VCR every Friday night and watch them over and over through the week until a new one came out.
Goosebumps also another big horror influence, I read (and still have, actually) pretty much every single Goosebumps book through the first 50-something in elementary school.  The show wasn't as good, but the intro theme song is really good and I'm still shocked it hasn't been remixed to this day because it sounds so mixable.

Tales from the Crypt is a great show

My favorites have already been mentioned but, they are

The Evil Dead 1-3 (I'm counting the 3rd even if it's comedy) and
Texas Chainsaw Massacre

I really dislike remakes for the most part especially the Evil Dead remake and new horror movies.

I bought a copy of the original Evil Dead a few years ago and decided to watch it when tripping. I had just came back from the woods and it was pitch black. I put in the dvd for the first time and it plays on fast forward, it scared the hell out of me  I still don't think the dvd works right

I thought the evil dead remake was remarkable. It didnt have the Bruce Campbell charm factor, but the effects were great.

I hate the actors and acting in the remake especially the main character. If they were different maybe I would have liked it. I also love love love Bruce Campbell in Evil Dead so him not being in it was disappointing.

I'm talking about the original night of the living dead. It was made in 1968 but then redone in color. You guys don't like that one eh?
