Joyce attempted it, but the Wake took him 17 years to finish...and will take a reader about the same to finish.:tongue2:

Literarily speaking, an attempt no matter how long does not become success. How much less the Chance Joyce succeeded in proving the understanding that his philosophies proved himself nothing more than an original, dedicated writer I don't know.

Men find their gospels where they will.

there are classes of prosaic description that are both map and territory -
legal agreements comprise one (and the operative word is agreement, for which the courts are a final arbiter).

scientific classifications (phylogeny) and other peer reviewed scientific documentation is another prosaic map that is a territory which can be projected on the world and made to fit ( the rules fit and are real but the realities are never fully describable nor need they be fully described ).

people use prosaic language to discuss the results of sports and war, news in general, politics and philosophy, but these are not maps just sketches about instances or about principles with too much left out to be the territory at all.

prose is good for setting boundaries from which maps can be drawn and territory itself can be experienced, history can be reviewed.

both poetry and philosophy are verbal territory (without having to be real life territory),
in that the speaking and the hearing are the actual realities of these two arts fulfilled.

the after glow of each enhances the territory but does not define or map it (though poetry provides interesting abstract mappings and philosophy provides potential maps that could be extended to law/science/whatnot).

poetry does not seem to want to define territory while philosophy does seem to want to be both map and territory though it usually lacks the support of both agreements and courts.

religion is the cultural residue of sciences and both poetry and philosophy that once were also the arbiter extending the will of royalty onto society.

sometimes I think that philosophy aspires to be the replacement of religion though I truly believe we need to lose the vestiges of royal extension (dependent arbitration) in order to come of age in a society of equals.
