hence why i used the term, dude.

poetry IS endless. as is philosophy. it's not an ultimate consequence of our practice that meets the goal, so hence my explanation.

you can master an art but the term is an oxymoron because the master knows there is still much to learn. in all regards. especially in poetry and philosophy.

actually the art masters were not masters, that moniker derives from art dealers, and curators who up-sell themselves by association, but that is part of the other thread, as so many things are these days.
we have come to be very cross threaded.
and that may be a good thing - connectedness of important issues.

mostly I am certain you have a view of me that is other than possible.
I never use such words as endless, ultimate, or mastery.
These do get in the way of a close approximation to anything real.
and that is what both philosophy and poetry want to do.

If I have that view of you then clearly it's possible.

it's artifice,
truth being that I do not use those words.
ergo your view is an impossible one which translates as erroneous.

Yes, there's always more you could learn.

well, master to me, means to have learned it all. but since all is divided into sequential parts to make up a whole, and the whole can never be achieved in one breath of sequence, so hence many are needed to provide for it, and thus there is no "true" master; philosophically speaking.

Well, scroll up and note that you fabricated what "translates as erroneous," which makes your claims erroneous.

this is not a good example of critical thinking in my opinion

okay, on to part 2 now that I have a bit of time:

"  riverrun, past Eve and Adam's, from swerve of shore to bend
of bay, brings us by a commodius vicus of recirculation back to
Howth Castle and Environs."

The above is the first sentence (which is a runon from the last sentence) of Finnegans Wake by James Joyce.

In this book, James Joyce shows us an almost entirely different way to use language..almost a different language in which the meaning or theme of each sentence is sort of poetically packed in every word. The puns, word-play, and depth of words as used and spelled give a unique and original example of the sort of language that must be captured if we are to describe the universe in a more meaningful way.

Each word, sentence, and paragraph demands a certain study into the nature of what is actually being said, and the more knowledge one has just about life in general, the more the book explodes into meaning not previously perceived.

So to can every event in the universe explode into meaning not previously perceivable prior to insight.

one thing we might agree on is that it is absurd either way.

Haha if you cannot see the poetry or uniqueness and originality in finnegans wake..then its obvious you have never even attempted to read it.

making sweeping statements and points on a book you evidently know nothing about...such hubris. You remind me of Ped and Diploid

please understand, when I say poetry, I am encompassing all use of language that goes beyond 'normal construction' in order to convey a message.
literary alchemy...using language in novel ways. this is what I am referencing in OP....not whatever narrow-view you seem to hold on what constitutes as poetry.

""riverrun, past Eve and Adam's, from swerve of shore to bend
of bay, brings us by a commodius vicus of recirculation back to
Howth Castle and Environs.""

The book begins as a run-on from the last sentence in the book. "commodius vicus" doesn't seem to really make any sense..but 'commode' as in toilet comes to mind (which I am sure is no accident) and the water in a commode moves in a circular fashion..vicus then brings to mind Giambattista Vico (1668-1744). Vico believed in a theory of cyclical history..and then 'recirculation'..the entire first sentence shows a multi-dimensional theme of cyclical history.

"..all space-time in a notshell is what we’re searching for here. "

It's reached its inherent limits? Would you mind stating precisely what those are?

As you can imagine, its quite difficult to list the limits of language with language.
In fact, to successfully do so, without speaking metaphorically would create the sort of prose I am referencing in OP.

I'll give it a shot though.

We use language in typical prose in order to describe (map) most anything we can conceive of (territory).
Korzybski in Science and Sanity remarked that "The map is not the territory." and herein we find that our descriptions used in typical prose, while potentially becoming very accurate maps..can never fully encompass the territory (our conception).

The only way the territory can be equal with the map (the description) is if we are somehow able to describe what is being conveyed in not only the message, but in the writing itself. This is why I used the term 'poetry' its the only word I can think of to describe what I'm trying to get across.

Something like this however introduces a bit of a paradox..how can the map be the territory?

I was introduced to this concept of poetic language becoming the territory through learning about the idea of lethal texts.
The typical archetype of the lethal text goes something like as the reader is reading it, it destroys/elevates the readers mind do to the very nature of the language used by introducing a logical paradox.

This concept is a bit different but aligns with the idea that the prose as well as information contained within a concept reflects the idea multi-dimensionaly..in that the structure of the words used and the words used convey a the same message.

As it stands, the very nature of my version of complexity creation (time) and inspiration of this thread sort of follows this..map becoming the territory..
custom (what was) + novelty (interactions/creation of what was) = complexity (time)

We can see this with the alphabet and its creation of language.
We have the alphabet (custom) rearranged in novel ways (novelty) to bring about a message, an order of higher complexity...
But this pattern of higher orders of complexity may continue where the language itself is rearranged in novel ways in order to bring about a message only possible by the higher complexity of the novel use of a customary language.

the maps become territory.

i see what you did there.

I admit this is a tough topic to write about as I can't seem to adequately write what I am attempting to describe.
Lakefingers provided a pretty apt response to such a vague OP, but its clear to me that he doesn't understand what I'm trying to convey and thats not his fault.

It may turn out to be impossible.
Joyce attempted it, but the Wake took him 17 years to finish...and will take a reader about the same to finish.:tongue2:

but I've witnessed the spoken word of what I am trying to convey quite a few times...so I know its real.
