Before I found the shroomery I tried a similar kit. Super lab sterilized HEPA air ftration hoses with an air pump/purifier- aquarium pump and hose with some cotton in it attached to a mason jar with some rocks and more cotton in it.
Incubation/fruiting chamber with bacteria filtering tape around the holes for the HEPA humidifier and other hoses- 10 gallon clear tub with a strip of Micropore tape.
Secret instruction used by only select PROS teaching you how to grow POUNDS of mushrooms in only WEEKS!!!- crap failed rendition of most successful PF TEKS seen around here with the addition of an overpriced humidifier and heating pad which molded the FUCK out of that tub. Little gasoline in the fire pit made me feel better...
You can tell how well it was totally working out before I found this little treasure trove :laugh:.

I took a closer look at the soil, and noticed green mold. I pulled back the side of the box a bit and there is green mold. the instructions do not mention airing anything, but I have taken the top off each day for to spray and to look at the soil. so should I throw the whole thing out because of the green mold? I poured salt on some areas of mold.

Inspected the casing soil/substrate, green mold present, substrate not colonized, threw entire thing in the garbage.
out 200 bucks. beware of magicmushroomkit.ca (Island Mushrooms Inc.). I followed their instructions to the letter. I believe that the jar of 'prepared mushroom spawn' was not so. their website advertises this as almost foolproof.
I hope an earthquake hits Vancouver island, opens a gap in the earth, and swallows the people behind this scam (but miraculously no one else on the island is harmed).
Mega you grow = mega you get ripped off. I am really pissed off.

At least you learned something and you found the shroomery so your next attempt will cost much less and go much smoother.

Might I recommend How Frank Gets Shit Done as a great jumping off point, great teks with real "foolproof" instructions if thats your forte :p. Not promising pounds in weeks but at least you'll see real fruits of your hard labor.

first thing u need to do (if u don't wanna spend a lot up front), assuming u already have a soup or stick pot, is buy 1 case short, WIDE MOUTH 1/2 pints jars, small bag of brown rice flour (bob's red mill brand is common example), and bag of vermiculite at a garden store or home depot/lowes/ace/etc (ASK for it if its in winter, don't leave if u don't see it).  get spore syringe from a vendor (do not order Penis Envy [PE] if u are folioing this method).  then post and tell us when ur ready

This is a follow up

Mega you grow replaced the kit for me. I had to pay for shipping, but they replaced the kit for me. Even though I did not offer photographic evidence that the kit didn't work out (I didn't have a camera) they still replaced it.
SO - round two - it worked. big mushrooms, one was 50 grams alone. And now I know what those people are talking about who say fresh shrooms are stronger than dried. The trips I had on fresh shrooms - profound, as in I was shown evolution, alien beings appeared in another dimension, and some of the things I learned would, were I to advocate them, be dismissed as insane, but I really felt that I was being 'taught'. holy shit. I take back my trashing of the mega you grow kit. it works, though I think the makers should throw in two jars of prepared mushroom spawn, as the substrate was never fully colonized. Still, lots of shrooms, another jar of spawn and it would have been like in the video.

Could of used that money you spent on shipping, which i bet was a lovely sum. Follow Cronic's advice and been in a way happier and better place.

i really hope you dont go back and order another one....:thumbdown:

I just purchased the monster mega you grow kit from mushroomgrowkits.ca and was wondering if I'm actually gonna get potent shrooms from it I paid it 220 any information will help thank you!!!

Potency is mostly genetic and when you grow from spores there is no way of telling weather your fruits will be potent or not. You should get something you can trip off of if you can manage to get mushrooms from a grow kit. Grow kits suck. They make growing mushrooms much harder and more expensive than it needs to be.
