no, i'm not trying to justify anything. you can't examine and explain how your view of life is correct, however.

you "get more" for yourself... you "take less" from your parents? what does that even mean? i just said, i don't take anything from my parents. i eat what will already be there, and i don't do anything else... save fifty bucks for an internet bill. trust me, that's about the most of the cost of my living with my parents, and since i help out around the house and do chores, my step-dad considers it paid for.

 you think i'm trying to justify something inherently fair.

ok!

i'd have to go to school for a job i don't inherently hate, which is a waste of my time and money, my albeit non-existent money.

PS: welcome to the party, mantis. i thought you didn't judge. but you do.

I turned on you after I learned more about your back-story (and how you told it). Lophosaurus clarified what he meant and it made sense. He was talking about people who live at home, with no ambitions or plans to move out, for an extended period of time.

I never said I don't judge people because we all do. Your attitude about your lifestyle is what I, and I'm guessing other people, have an issue with.

you turned on me? LOL really... oh no, you turned on me. more like, you decided to get offended over disproportionate beliefs.

you think i should be "planning for..." what now?

explain yourself, or is this beyond you?

You're wrong. You know it. You're mad because you don't want to admit it. And to top it all off, you're mad because you have a micro-sized penis.

so you're just gonna let your parents work their ass off while you sit at home and take their free resources and don't plan on changing that at any point?

wrong on all accounts.

admit what, though? that you're right, or that wasting ones time is inherently the goal here? i already know one option is a load of crap.

LOL, nice phrasing. but no. first off: i'm not "letting" my parents do anything. that's your first absurdity. they make their own decisions, and here i am. figure that one out.

secondly: i don't think they'd be working any less of their asses off, if i wasn't here... what do you think? they would just go into work "i'm gonna take time off, my son moved out"?

are you fucking kidding?

thirdly: i don't make plans to change, otherwise, change doesn't occur. i just go with the flow, as it were.

oh and fourth: i don't take anything that isn't given to me. you must imagine me like some dork (like i'm sure you once were, or at least, i dunno, where is reference point?) who just takes everything and guzzles it down willy-nilly. no, i'm polite. i ask permission first, and if i've got options, i might graze small portions of food that my mom will just end up throwing out, anyways... i don't pilfer.

Everything is a waste if you look at it like that. Working a job that you don't want to get a product or end result that you do want is a very good thing to get used to.

A job is the best teacher for getting used to this. Being a man to me is getting something done even though you don't want to really do it. Women can do this too obviously, but men will take care of women. If they aren't being taken care of, they can leave and find someone who will. Bad news man, most women won't take care of you.

If you don't want your own money or your own independence or your own house or your own children or to do projects around the house to maintain/modify it how you want, then you're fine. If you want any of those, then start practicing now.

The longer you don't practice the more likely you are to fail at achieving these things.

In a lot of places in Europe, most people don't move out until they get married, if even then. A lot of families have largish multi-generational houses.

Living with your parents isn't the same thing as living off your parents. Not understanding the distinction is kind of an American thing.

Yeah, how in the hell would you expect to go anywhere in life without at least a job?

I mean I'm no overachiever, I dropped out of college...twice. But I am working full time and paying all my own bill, and have an apartment (with a roommate). Sure, it's not the most glamorous life, but I provide for myself and am working towards a better life.

like what? rent? food? clothes?

there are jobs available, and if i really needed one, i'm sure i'd be fine with any stipulations. as right now, i don't have any, luckily.

and i would have money, because i am pretty sure i'm included in my parents will. plus, i got family i can stay with while i get on my feet. now they have their kids living with them, so i wouldn't stay there long, and especially if that wasn't the case, i'd make even more of an effort to stave off intruding in their home. i'd probably go homeless, if i needed too, but there's always hotels.

i'd be fine, for awhile, and i'd have to presume that i'd be living in some sort of squalor but i'm fine with that. as long as i have my amenities. you actually don't need alot of money to live.

and what does it matter? you're "working towards a better life". tell me in ten years.

right now, you're just fixated on a notion.

paying your own bills doesn't mean squat. all it means is that you get to feel like your life has worth, has meaning. good for you. but beyond that, it doesn't. or at least, it won't until you meet your expectations. i tend to keep my expectations low.

Oh, you'd have money if your parents died because you're included in their will?

Nice man, sounds like you got a lot going for  ya
