Don't do it man, that city is a toilet!
Better to stay clear of the whole Holland area, if you intend to live in this country.

I live on an island in the river delta, pretty remote by Dutch standards, and the nearest town alone has two coffeeshops.

It's better to deal with your paranoia where you are right now. You know, stare down the jaguar and all that.




But in case I can't stop you from migrating here, let me tell you about the provinces so you can make an informed decision before moving here.

As I said, the whole Holland area is awful. It's either ghetto's or luxury gated communities, nothing exists in between. Everybody here is crazy.

Friesland is a mad place, they don't speak the same language, and have too many sheep for any healthy area.

Groningen is dangerous with earthquakes and farmers, also there is a Tibetan monastery for some reason.

Drenthe is a crazy place, it's a very god bothering sort of area, combined with pagan ruins and unspoiled nature. Everybody there is a crazy person. Everybody.

Flevoland is a man made province, and therefore the feng shui of the place is all wrong. Don't go there, it is a miserable place.

Noord-Brabant is filled with rednecks. Pigs outnumber people, but maybe they got confused counting. avoid at all costs.

Limburg is filled with racist rednecks who think they are posh for some reason. Avoid at all costs.

Overijsel is filled with rednecks whom are pretty posh. Still, it's dangerous with roving bands of bored, misunderstood youths.

Utrecht is like the Holland area, but lighter and softer. The park like façade of this province isn't fooling anyone.

Zeeland is where I am from, and it is the worst place in the country, somehow combining all the most awful features of the other provinces, only more hardcore religious, caused by the constant threat of total annihilation by the unforgiving sea.

Maybe stay clear from all of Europe, it's mostly just this only with varying levels of hardcore.

:lol: that was funny - and to some extent recognizable :wink: I myself don't particularly like North & South Holland (the former more so), especially the Amsterdam area. Rotterdam and the neighboring cities are much more palpable. The north is basically a wasteland and not much of an option to immigrate into due to a lack of jobs. Flevoland is indeed an awful place to live and it always amazes me that mass suicides aren't common there. Noord-Brabant, Gelderland (oddly absent from your list, as is Utrecht) and Overijssel are all pretty nice though, with a couple of nice cities/towns, a relatively large amount of green stuff (calling it nature would be stretching things), quite a healthy labor market and mostly void of the arrogant, tourist-trapping culture of the bigger cities in the West.

Btw, are you sure about that Tibetan monastery being in Groningen? It doesn't ring a bell with me; are you sure you don't mean the Maharishi monastery in Vlodrop (Limburg)?

bovril are you from the U.K.?  I'm just guessing after a quick google search of your user name, apparently it's a " thick, salty meat extract, developed in the 1870s" that is popular in the U.K.  I just ask because if you are in the U.K., then you can legally buy and grow peyote and eat it for mescaline (just don't get caught doing that last part).

I really couldn't justify the cost of moving around the world just to feel safe about doing mushrooms and smoking weed especially with the way legalization is heading , as long as you don't go around openly selling weed or mushrooms / advertize taking said substances on Facebook and don't run an over sized grow op at your house i would feel perfectly safe at home.

Koraks, I did mention sneaky Utrecht, but I don't know what this Gelderland is you talk about. Probably some uninhabited wasteland, yeah?

And I am serious, there is a monastery in Groningen. It's even got visiting hours and shit, you can go there if you want to.

It's too crowded, everybody is an asshole, we are ruled by richboys, paedophiles and the legally dead. The weather sucks.
German tourists are terrible, but not as terrible as the Brits, whose dreadfulness is overshadowed by the other Dutch.
The idiots are going to flood a large area of fertile farming land because of some stupid ass treaty with Belgium that nobody who lived in the area was informed of, the nuclear powerplant is turning our babbies into eyeless monsters(perhaps), there's too much old people, but no jobs at all AT THE SAME TIME, everything is too expensive, Holland pretends we don't exist except for when they want to dump their retarded spoiled offspring for the summer. Marijuana possession its decriminalize in many places and legal in 4 states.  Move to CO.  Also not getting caught with simple possession is easy as long as your not being an idiot.
