Any men in the Pub consider themselves feminists?

My father and sister were recently conversing about feminism. My sister said she is a feminist. My dad said he is one too and said all men should be feminists. I'm like seriously. :canthelpbutlaugh: No way, I am not a feminist.

Do the male users in the Pub support feminism even though they are men?

Depends on what you define as feminist. If you mean in the traditional sense, of supporting female equality and women's rights then sure I'd be a feminist.
I am not however likely to see eye to eye with the hordes of raving entitled bloggers or uber extreme radical feminists

I used to, then I got exposed to such an overload of feminism that I gave up. I am now the anti-feminist just on account of the fact that they annoy me more than progress a cause.

These days the basic reason many young men who believe themselves to be educated are saying they aren't feminists is because they are ignorant about history, especially the history of women's rights and the feminist movements, and often they just want to be nitpicky about semantics.

It isn't really how I define myself but I think there are plenty of circumstances in this world where women are mistreated or undervalued, so obviously I would support social progress towards the empowerment of wimmen.

Lets just say I would admit to being a feminist way before I associated myself with any MRA groups.

He's irritating but there are worse. Often his threads help reveal bigotry and stupidity among other users as well, so I know who to avoid discussing things with. I guess

i just think equality should be a right no matter of race or gender.  i mean reALLY..... women are fuckig beautiful andnice and have boobs, they're generally good people.  females should be treted as equals.

altho7gh i really do hate when a chick is suuuuueper feministic.  don't try to gain m,ore rights than men..... separeate but equal, ya know? women deserve to be treated ;ike anyone else.  such bullshit! and i mean men love women so it idk whats's the deal with most udes.

i probably don't mak too much sense cause im on coke amd beer.

There has always been alot of BS and contreversy in all political movements, that just comes with the territory.  People usually either aren't comfortable with change, or can't agree on what changes are needed. 

I don't think that should detract from the people who fought in their time in order to be accepted today and the people who continue to fight for what they believe are human rights being denied to them or others.  It is not a pretty process but it is currently the best way we have to effect change.
