Hey everyone I was playing around with a new macro lens I got for my IPhone and I took some awesome pictures I figured some of you guys would enjoy! Please post any cool macro pictures you might have! (If this is the wrong forum I'm sorry I wasn't sure where to post please move it if that is the case.)

No idea what a small amount like that would do but consuming too much ergot can lead to Ergotism http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ergotism

OP where did you obtain the ergot?


Basically an acquaintance ordered a shit ton of rye for some plant pathology experiments. Not sure where they ordered from but I'd assume possibly a lab supplier or animal food retailer as Ergot would be extremely unlikely to be found in products for human consumption with today's technology. Either way, they found quite a few sclerotium in their batch and I was lucky enough to swipe a few :wink:

The only similarities I can think of in symptoms would be hallucinations and vasoconstriction, but considering the huge list of physical ailments that accompany Ergotism I don't think anyone would compare the two.

My Methylone crystals are more white though.

Also what can you do with the ergot sclerotium? Is there a way to prepare it so that you can trip off of it?

My crystals weren't very large so it could just be that, hard to judge how big your crystals are as well so it could just be that.
I must say that I did not fully enjoy the methylone I took. It was sold me to as MDMA as well. Terrible come down, made me leave a party early as I was feeling soo shit from the come down. I kept some before I took it and only was able to test it the day after the party with some Marquis.


Ahh, so you use ergot sclerotia in the production of LSD, that is interesting. I'd imagine you'd need a looot of it though?

you've compared your sample to others of ergot, or had it sent to a lab and tested?  or did your friend compare the initial sclerotia structure to that of ergot?

just because you had some fungus form does not mean it is what you claim.

not trying to be a dick, just intrigued. 

synthing any usable form of lsd from it would be extremely difficult, anyway.

These crystals are about the size of a pea maybe smaller. I actually really enjoyed the methylone, the comedown was kind of uncomfortable but I was able to fall asleep a few hours later which was awesome. I took a pretty low dose about 100mg then redosed at about the same dosage twice. If I were expecting MDMA I would've been disappointed but it was enjoyable for what it was.

Yeah you need a bunch but there are ways to artificially inoculate rye with ergot if you have a culture. There's a really old video somewhere that runs over the process a bit I'll see if I can find it on youtube later.

And I'll gladly snap some more pictures tonight. Was there anything in particular you wanted to see?

I think that is a valid point to bring up, I've always just assumed it was ergot. It was given to me from a plant pathologist, while rye was not their field of study I still feel pretty confident in their identification. That being said I really wish I had some real samples to compare it to...

Is there any tests I could preform now that it is dry to help identify it? Unfortunately I don't have access to any high powered microscopes at the moment. What other species could form similar fruiting bodies on rye?

Don't anyone do it please.

Seizures and Gangrene are not worth it.

BTW: Ergot (Claviceps purpurea) isn't that hard to find if your out there looking for it.
          It grows on hundreds of types of wild grasses including farm grains like wheat,
          barley, triticale and rye of course.

I agree ingesting would be extremely foolish! I've heard it can use several other grasses as a host although I've never witnessed it in person. What time of the year would be good to go hunting for ergot and what type of climate does it prefer? I'd assume warm and wet?
