Not to bust out facts and sound pretentious but humans have a built in instinct to avoid snakes, subconsciously your mind will detect sneaks and cause you to react long before you consciously spot them. Our operating system contains a built in detection system that continuously runs and supersedes conscious decision. Its really no surprise theyre so culturally vilified.

Went to the pet store and talked to the reptile expert there. They ran out of frozen baby rats so we settled for 2 adult mice. We used the bathtub (thanks spots) to feed her. I fed the first mouse, and my daughter fed the second one.

We used tongs and the snake struck right away, it was pretty damn cool to see.
