So I'm trying to get a job at a headshop.
    #20779470 -

I was there yesterday bright and early when they first opened. The girl that was inside put my name and number down and said she'd have the hiring manager call me. Well they didn't call last night. Think they're waiting for a call back from me? What should I do? I NEED a job and have no car, which is why that place would be excellent to work at because they're a five minute walk from my house.

Ideas? They posted on their facebook on the 27th saying they were hiring.

Always call them. I have had 14 jobs in the last 4 years with 1 year not working at all. In fact, for one of my jobs I had to call for the interview, call for my training date, and call for my start date. By calling you are letting the hiring manager know that you really want the job and are more likely to stay at the job and not just quit in a couple weeks.

Good God!  14 jobs in 4 years?  That's a new job every three and a half months.  Not exactly a great streak, huh?

My goal has stayed the same but the method to achieve the goal has changed as time went on.

I hope you get it.

I tried to get a job in a sex shop once.

Didn't get the job.

They probably figured this guy is the next Ron Jeremy.

I just need one chance.

Yeah I just got 2 jobs and I called both of them for my first interview. For one place I had to call for my second interview too. It makes you stand out in the mind of the hiring manager when you call. They will make sure to look at your resume sooner than the others if you call. Just make sure you wait a few days at least and don't call to often. Don't wanna be too desperate, just eager to work.

Call and bug the shit out of them.. Pretty standard practice.

Think of it this way.. When there's an open position, there's usually quite a few candidates wanting to fill that job. A good portion of them are already calling and bugging the management to set up interviews or ask what they should be doing next.. With these people calling the managers themselves, why would they need to bother going through the applications and calling the people who are just waiting for them to call?

Had the interview yesterday. I'm feeling like I might have fucked up by some of the answers I gave. Or I'd just freeze up as some points. One of the questions was if I knew how to juggle. I said no and she's like, "do you want to?".

I had a friend who worked at a head shop, he said it was super boring but ultra cool selling bongs and shit. I guess he used to get a lot of people trying to look for weed. It was a decent spot, they got commission on top of hourly wage and a store discount.
