Well speaking on the idea of safe weight loss, losing 1-2 lbs a week is ideal, with 3 being an option.  Any more than that is usually frowned upon.  So lets says you do things right and lose ~2 lbs a week, that would take you to a total weight loss of 32 lbs and land you at ~282.

And the way I look at it, it does not start in the kitchen.  Physically speaking it starts at the grocery store.  You can't eat what you don't buy.  But where it really starts is in your bed every morning you wake up.  You can either think to yourself upon waking 'ah I don't want to work out much today, and I might as well grab some McD's on my way to work' or you think 'I am going to get an extra 10 minutes of working out in today than I planned and bring an apple and yogurt for a snack to work'.

While losing weight may seem like a strictly physical process, it is as much if not more of a mental process.  You have been living the same lifestyle for years which has lead you to where you stand today, and now you hope to change it around.  Things like 5-10 minutes of meditation can help get you in the right mindset every morning to take on the day and be the change you want to be.  Make sure you take small steps throughout, don't try and leap into 100%.

A few reminders/tips that may help.

Put up post-it-notes throughout your house/work place that say
-Time to work out
-Eat Healthy
-Drink Water
-Spring Break 2015
-One on your computer that says 'Extra 15 minutes to waste?  Waste it on pushups'
Allow a cheat snack every once in a while during the first few weeks
The outer edge of the grocery store usually has the healthiest foods, stay away from the inner isles full of processed food.
Weight loss comes down to burning more calories than you consume
Stop eating before you feel full.  It may feel odd leaving food on your plate (especially at a restaurant), but those extra calories add up.
Find a workout partner if possible.  It will help keep both of you accountable
Make your workouts fun!

In the end you have the option to make this a 4 month change, or a rest of your life change.  If you really want to lose the weight and keep it off you have to realize that this will be a complete lifestyle change, and it will be for the better.  Now get at it and kick some ass!

resistance training, for every lb of muscles gained is even more calories being burnt up throughout the day just to maintain said muscle mass

Yoo thanks for the advice homie! My cousin is actually motivating me to eat right/ exercise daily. Ive been waking up at around 5-6 to go for a jog with him these past several weeks. My dad always has healthy food in the fridge so thats no worries. He literally has diet food and water. He's been working out for years.

I actually AM planning on meditating for several other reasons. *socially awkward, negative thoughts, out of touch with reality*

I ordered the book "tree of life meditation system"....hopefully it gets here soon.

So yeah man, thanks alot for the tips, adive and stuff! #StayTrippy #PLUR

Go here http://iifym.com/tdee-calculator/ to determine your BMR/TDEE.  Make sure you eat your BMR worth of calories every day or your body will go into a starvation mode and start storing calories.  As long as you eat your BMR and under your TDEE, you will lose weight.  I've lost 40 lbs in the past 106 days just by following this formula and walking 2-3 miles a day in commute.  You can do it man, this time last year I was 315 and today I weighed in at 225.  I just started following the formula a little over 3 months ago and my weight loss has accelerated.  I still eat pizza once a week, but only a few slices.  I still eat ice cream, but only 1 serving as stated on the box.  I have 2 boiled eggs and a banana for breakfast, popcorn and/or beef jerky for small snacks throughout the day.  Some celery with apple butter.  I do minimal weight training, with a couple 30lb dumbbells.  Just know it is truly about a change in lifestyle rather than a simple number as a goal.  Good luck.

If you stick to good diet, and compound free weight lifts you will lose weight with a couple of days of cardio thrown in. More if you feel the need.

Look into these exercises my man,

lunges
squats
DEADLIFT
bent over row
dips
bench press (push ups also if you want)

Box jumps

also agility drills work wonders for cardio, alot more fun imo than just running.

This.

Good on you for making change so quickly, but focus on the long term goal as well as your short term ones.  It's all about the lifestyle change, allow yourself to live a little but train hard too.

I would highly recommend getting in to some weight/strength training.  There are some good programs on bodybuilding.com which will give you a workout plan.  Keep moderately cutting your calories and enjoy feeling great man, it's the least talked about benefit, but the most motivating for me.  Exercise rewards you like nothing else.  This is in part why I prefer strength training over cardio, since it fucks you out less than going crazy hard on cardio for an hour.

All the best bro.

Also, make sure you give yourself a rest day, which can incorporate some low intensity cardio.  Your body needs this to recover and regenerate itself, couple this with 8-9 hours of sleep and you'll be giving you body the down-time it needs.

Rest and sleep are essential for making the gains/losses that you want.  You do the work while you are awake, and your body does the work while you sleep.
