All I was saying is that oatmeal is gluten free, naturally - the only gluten to be found in oatmeal, would be very miniscule from cross contamination at the factory from machinery used to process wheat aswell.

Point being, there's no point in buying expensive "gluten free" oatmeal, unless you are celiac - it is a marketing ploy.

I am actually of the same philosophy as cpt. crunch, but it's interesting to see your meticulous scientific approach aswell.

The healthiest people I know focus on a fruit and veggie whole food diet, and spend much of their time preparing their own foods, myself included. I think limiting meat and processed foods is the main point - not maximizing carbs, or protein or any some such. Good quality whole foods, moderation, regular meals and exercise, = super health.

It really depends on the individual though - I have a fast metabolism, and get about 10hrs aerobic exercise/week - can't help by losing weight, even though I eat bacon and use lard for frying, and eat large portions...

Anyways - The Chinese grocer I shop at is 5x cheaper than the chain grocers, and there is a specialty grocer that sells bulk quantities of things and that's where I get bulk cans on olive oil, oatmeal, peanut butter, tahini, etc.

There are also food wholesalers in my city and they are open to the public - although I have yet to pool my money to purchase 50lbs of chickpeas or some such. It is on my to do list.

What I am trying to say is that eating whole foods is expensive, but if it becomes a lifestyle and you enjoy time in the kitchen, and plan ahead, It actually comes out cheaper than how most people live.

almost forgot, i will post some results in a few weeks, instead of everyday, just a before and after at the end... but its coming along really good so far and im not even hittin the gym to much, because of injuries im waiting to heal.. it sucks because i really want to go, but its okay..  as long as the weight drops so that when i do hit the gym i wont have fat on my body preventing me from good form/proper stretchin which happened before... technically im obese, but people who see me an i tell them im 190-200(prior this diet) pounds are usually astonished and say they thought i was 170.


its cool also cause i can see my six pack under my layer of fat in certain angles haha, and the more the weight comes off the less of an angle i need to see it.. im expecting really fast results maybe, and im doin it properly... but it seems to be comin off faster then i thought? maybe its an illusion and the days are just goin by fast. it just feels good to follow through
