I dunno, every other community I look calls them snake tubs.
I'm not referring to their original purpose, but I guess you are.

Shoebox just has a bad connotation since it implies no environment regulation or amenities were provided in the container.

Maybe I do have my head up my ass, but you are the one presenting yourself as one.

Like this here for example.  Rat pups are not larger than fuzzies but offer healthier meat and a stronger skeletal structure.  These arent bearded dragons you dont "dust" their food.  And good luck feeding a full grown copper a full grown rat.  It just doesnt work that way.  But you know it all, you cant be told shit.  Put this up on kingsnake or venomousreptiles, and they'll tear you apart.

I must have not found the right sources for rat pups yet.

But dusting pinkies for calcium supplement?
That's a common practice among snake keeepers and other herpetologists that I've heard about for a while.

Not just Bearded Dragons.

Sure you have.  I healthy rat pup offers a complete meal.  There is no need for supplements.  I dont know where you're getting your info from but these are basics from the '80's.  That my be why you've never heard your little tub refered to as a shoe box/shoe rack.  Good luck with it man.

Well I guess our terminology won't line up too well then.

I gave Coatl, a quick milking after eating today (would it be better before eating?) and tried self administering some venom via intramuscular.

So last night as I'm going to feed my geckos I notice that my female must've shredded my males tail.



The male is now in a separate smaller cage with wet paper towel lining the bottom. Poor guy. :/ I freaked at first but after talking to an experienced breeder I guess this it is fairly typical of breeding geckos for the female to go after the males tail. She shredded his shit tho I'm surprised he didn't drop the tail.

That's pretty funny.

Snakes can't really suffocate from over stuffing their mouths, but they could suffocate if you squeeze their necks too tight.

I'm trying to feed Coatl without handling it for a while.
Let it get settled into the new tub setup I have going.

I milked a little venom from it and have been immunizing on occasion.

Just looks like there's some dried moss or coco fiber stuck to his tail.

I mean, he's in your possession..you can see more clearly what's going on.
But I can't imagine a geckos tail being "shredded". I just don't see it.
