Alternators fucked, that's killed the battery and I don't have the money to replace the bits just yet

Is your car an automatic transmission or a manual? You can get a jump from someone if you can access jumper cables.

Manual, yeah I've got cables. I'll have the money soon enough anyway, it's only for the parts I do all the labour my self
