From what I understand, according to the military boards and "military law," the President is not required to salute anybody. The marines are supposed to salute to him, but he is not expected or required to even salute back.

first, they are right, presidents arent required to salute, wanna know
why? because the president is a civilian and the honor of saluting the
military is earned, it's a privileged bestowed on others in the military

so now here's a question for you, are those marines required to salute
obama? he is a civilian, he's never served in the military, he has never
won a medal of honor and as such, he's never earned a single salute he
has received?

No it doesn't.  I was quite precise in saying individual support.. 

It is a continuum.  More socialist vs less socialist.  Everything about the dole is socialist.  The social safety net is socialist.  Building roads is not.  Police is not.  Border defense is not.  These are existential elements of a nation.  Buying you aspirin is not an existential feature of a nation.  Providing food and housing and health care are not either.  Only stupid commies would think they are.

Socialism is state controlled means of production.

They don't control the means, only regulate the private businesses that do.

That's capitalism, crony capitalism at best if you're smart enough to realize the insurance industry helped write the law.

How is providing roads and bridges and transportation infrastructure for registered business any less 'socialist' than providing infrastructure of healthcare and basic necessity for citizens? How can one be a function of government and not the other?
