Okay, well hopefully the window situation works pretty well. Unfortunately i don't think the sun "directly" hits this window but i can not put it outside in this condition as these past few mornings have been very wet. These cacti are making me wish some of these trees didn't exist :strokebeard: I was considering getting some grow lights to help the indoor growth until i saw my last power bill

Nice floor.  Is that pine?

You know, to be honest i'm not really sure. We just moved in here about a month ago and i didn't even think to ask as it's the first real wood flooring i've ever had myself

Grow lights aren't necessary. If you want to speed up drying the wound, you can set up a parabolic heat lamp with a regular light bulb (one of the clamp dealies like you use for reptiles) and have a fan running near the cactus.

During the winter you want to put them into dormancy. Little light and little to no water. This will cause healthy growth to explode in the spring when you introduce them back into a longer photoperiod and more water.

Since yours are fresh cuts you want to give each one about a cup of water a month to stimulate root growth. Once good root structure is established you don't need to water them at all.

Oh and check this out invitro:

Quote:
UVA

Most of us are exposed to large amounts of UVA throughout our lifetime. UVA rays account for up to 95 percent of the UV radiation reaching the Earth's surface. Although they are less intense than UVB, UVA rays are 30 to 50 times more prevalent. They are present with relatively equal intensity during all daylight hours throughout the year, and can penetrate clouds and glass

Also this.

Okay i suppose i'll do that. I've been told you can keep them growing with some lights, but i guess i shouldn't risk it until i have more cacti

I've never used artificial light on my cacti. You sure can keep them growing year round under artificial light though. Nothing wrong with that. Many ways to skin a cactus lol
