As I understand the issue from a few online articles and half a news story:

Scotland was conquered by the British and after a few centuries Scotland tries to be an independent nation again. Britain throws a hissy fit but vbecause its not a bloodthirsty empire like it was in 1700 it cant do much about it.

I don't really care either way.  I also don't see how anything will really change there.  still gonna be paying taxes, still gonna have ridiculous laws, still gonna have problems, etc...

I'm bummed they didn't vote to split, would make the English-speaking world a slightly more interesting place. :smile: Pragmatically, it seemed like a risky proposition, but maybe worth the risk if that's where folks' hearts were at.
