i have an insane stupid ear for sound quality
and it's annoying
my wife thinks i'm crazy

get a cool little pioneer deck
and those speakers

then maybe an amp
and maybe a sub

if you want.

there's some good websites out there. were you gonna do it yourself?

that's where all the money's gonna be spent
if you have free time it's worth looking up doing it yourself
it's pretty easy in a truck i'd imagine
fuck i'll help ya, but I don't know what I'm doing either :lol:
i'm crafty though, and like learning how to do this kinda crap

I don't have a whole ton of free time. I spend a lot of time working. Fortunately I make sufficient money to pay to have things done for me that I don't have the time to do.

I'd get a standard head unit that has USB connectivity, or atleast an AUX headphone jack connection, so you can hook your devices up to it.


And for speakers id get a pair of 6x9s and mount them in the back shelf if there is one, or behind the seats. Might want to get a small amp to run 'em too.


Subwoofers are overkill and in general aren't really suitable for a truck.


Best thing to upgrade is the seat as well. Throw in some megga comfortable seats. That'll make the biggest difference to the quality of the driving experience.

I did that with my 99 honda. Tossed that tape deck on bought a 80 dollar deck that could play mp3 cd's and had a aux connection so I could plug in my phone.

Made that ride way more enjoyable.

Still sounds crappy but hey, it worked.

Bought it at eek walmart and also bout a fitting kit.

if you have an ipod get a pioneer... they have an amazing ipod interface. You can keep it in your glove box and navigate your library from your deck, it'll charge it too. It's WAY better than the interface you get from a thumb drive since you can navigate by playlist, artist, album, etc its so awesome.
