hypochondriac question of the day
    #20532035 -

so yesterday i was cramming for an exam that i am actually going to be taking in a couple hours. I have a prescription to adderall IR and was taking em left and right. Looking back through my prescription it would appear that i had gone through 100mg in the course of a 24 hour period. I am quite concerned that i might have developed a permanent heart problem from it. I cant tell if its just a gnarly crash anxiety or a heart problem. No pain in chest really just lots of weird body sensations like tingles, muscle tightness, dizziness, and fatigue.

I guess the main question is how likely is it that i developed a permanent heart problem from 100mg of adderall in a 24 hour period??

No. Not zero percent chance. But no way in hell.

okay awesome thank you.

I get way too into my head sometimes and just have to hear it from an outside source to validate how irrational my thought processes can be.

Haha, I think you'll be okay. I've taken almost 200mg at once (with redoses) and been fine.

Yeah. That's the permanent psychosis you have from taking 100mg.

the come downs for any type of stim really mess with me in terms of kicking my hypochondria into overdrive.

I appreciate the feedback though

Anything that makes your body feel slightly weird will do that. No exactly the mental place you want to be while taking a test.

I knew a homeless guy in his 50s who bragged he'd been on the same recipe for 30 years: a daily gram of amphetamine, injected intravenously.

And I couldnt even take one drag from a joint without getting angina pectoris at age 30.

Mad world.

i rarely take stims anymore because of the comedowns. the only times i use adderall is for things like for an emergency situation other than that stims just dont do what they used to for me. everytime i use them i will have the worst paranoia and health anxiety from stims. it didnt used to be like that though.

what goes up must come down i suppose..

You could avoid this situation in the future by keeping up on your work, studying at regular intervals to retain knowledge and stop giving yourself a reason to abuse your prescription drugs.

Just food for thought man.

And good on you for working two jobs and attending university.  You're already 100 steps ahead of 95% of the people who post here.

Forgive me for putting some realistic advice out there. Perhaps it was my own mistake for pre-judging you as just another misguided youth looking for an excuse to turn to drug addiction.
