Couponing... how is this not illegal already?
    #20492351 -

I first heard about couponing like 3 years ago. People would pay only like 20 bucks for 3 buggies full of groceries but they were hardly even groceries. Just a bunch of processed junk only good for snacking on or putting in an underground bunker in case of an apocolypse.

Another strange thing is that, although I have googled and looked at about 30 different links related to "couponing" and "extreme couponing" and have not found a single incidence of a man couponing... is there some strange connection between women and couponing? Do they really love processed junk food that much that they will go out of their way to get roomfulls of it? Maybe that's why the majority of them are fat. inb4 ur sexist. No, I'm just looking at the facts.

Why isn't couponing illegal? Is there somebody in the higher-ups benefitting from this in some way? Do the stores make money somehow everytime an extreme couponer walks out with $800 worth of crappy food but only paid 17 dollars and fifty three cents for it?

Care to discuss or post comments?

You can use coupons on staples its not all processed junk. I only spend about 100 dollars a month on food.

Not all processed junk? Oh, heh. Well, my mistake there. If I was to try couponing, I'd be filling up my kitchen with food that's actually worth eating. Not a bunch of nasty ass goddamn poptarts, cereal, ramen and shit that's bad for you.

You're just now learning about coupons? It's not illegal because the company who owns the store also prints the coupons. They need to move stock, pull people in with coupons and they will also buy their milk, bread, cigarettes, and diapers there, so it's a win win.

I live in a city neighborhood. I drive my care 10-15 minutes away to buy groceries. If I had no car, and had to use places within walking distance for most of my shopping, I would have no choice but processed food. People who eat like that don't do it for fun. For a lot of people even the time to prepare a real meal is a luxury.

My Grandma bought a package of Handy Wipes and inside was a coupon for a free package, so she went back in and got a free package and another coupon. Rinse and repeat until we had to drag her away kicking and screaming.

Most drug addicts spend even less than you on food.

Well I am eating fairly healthy as well. If I really wanted to budget I could spend even less.

Depends on the coupon. If it's a manufacturer's coupon, then as far as the store is concerned, they did get paid. Because the manufacturer will pay what the customer saved.

Here's a video of a man who's into "extreme couponing."

Now he uses it to give food to the hungry.

I've seen people digging through the recycle paper pile looking for coupons. Some people are hardcore coupon savers.

Do you garden?

That's about what I was spending pre-garden, now me or my wife only go to the store about every other month and spend $50-100 at a time. Most of what we get we don't really need, and we eat fairly healthy. I keep expanding the garden but as it is right now about 75% of our diet is grown on the farm.

I'm sure people around here think we're ex-Amish or something. Back when I had an electric bill it about $30 a month. For a time me & a friend were seeing who could have the lowest bill, I got it as low as $17.

There's a show on TV called extreme couponing and there's many dudes who do it.

I agree, most of the food is processed shit, but I wouldn't mind my basement full of laundry, dish soap, personal items, etc.
