Synchronicity

During my lunch break the other day I was thinking that if god is the collective of our consciousness Neale Donald Walsh-esque style, then at the moment he/she might be paranoid shizophrenic with the monotonous terrorism threat crap the media is spewing at us at present and the increase in fear to justify increase in police and military and decaying of civil liberties. And I was thinking the ideas of the left would be the sane ideas that are yet to become conscious (OK I know other people have very different ideas but to tell the story, I have to say my thoughts) and that we had to make people aware on a mass scale to bring this to consciousness. Then I walked into the Mental Health Centre where I work and I saw a poster on the wall that said "Help the world learn more about schizophrenia". I have had a few periods in my life before when I have have had lots of synchronicity - since I became aware of the idea of it admittedly. Does anyone else have this?
Since I had these thoughts I realised it is probably not entirely true given the size of the protests earlier this year - there's lots of anti-war, etc people, but anyways....

I mean if Pacman affected our generation as kids, we'd all be running around in a darkened room, munching pills and listening to repetitive electronic music. "Being bitter and hateful is like drinking a vial of poison and hoping the other person gets sick" FreakQLibrium "My motto from here on out is: If someone or something (including me) in my life is conducting themselves in such a way that they can be seen on Jerry Springer, it's time to take out the garbage!!! When you stop taking their behaviour personally and see their antics as a true reflection on their character, it becomes absolutely nauseating." Anon. on abusive relationships.

Let's go with your example for a moment... If you were bitten by an ant in your little toe, would you be scared that you would die from it? Surely, you say no. You may be VERY ANNOYED though; and perhaps even, the little ant's life may come to an end because of it... But afraid, you would not be. You have to take size into perspective. Even if this whole planet vanished, relative to the magnitude represented by the King, it would be synonymous to an atom exploding within your body. Quote:

I would agree. But perhaps instead of revealing the "disease" aspect of it, rather, discuss and spread the concept of it. There were many tests done on humans involving splitting the brain in half. The result of the tests revealed an interesting conclusion... That we may very well be split personalities. I would argue that these personalities are your ego and a larger you... There is a man, Arne Naess, who coined the term Deep Ecology. He calls what I just said as the "self" and the "Self". I very much agree with Mr Naess that one must get connected with the Self. So yes.. Do it ! Quote:

"Size doesn't matter. What about a brown recluse.. or the AIDs virus?" ----------------------
Well... once you get to a large enough magnitude of size, then it becomes proportionately more significant.
However, the size variation that I had in my example still holds. An HIV virus is WAY LARGER than a single ATOM.
B T W .... What is a brown recluse ????

Yes. Way too often lately.

Just thought I would jump on in and mention that it is only us that created suffering... no one has to suffer, you know. Peace.

No offense fireworks, but that's reaaaaal easy to say... Try telling that to someone with 3rd degree burns all over their body... And yea, I know the standard, "well that's pain, not suffering" argument, but u'll only know the fallacy of that when u have 3rd degree burns (hope u never do, that was just an example btw)

Well, when we are talking physical pain, that is just a bit different, as it is going to take a lot of mental programming to not suffer from intense pain.
Suffering is a sort of negative feeling as a result of a certain situation being experienced. But is it the situation itself or our reaction to it that creates suffering? I'd bet on it being our reaction to it. The same situation that may cause one person suffering wouldn't even bother another person. Peace.
