Question Concerning Headshops
    #20387823 -

I was wondering if anyone here knew of the legalities of headshops selling kratom.

Do they simply order it online, then put in on their shelves?
Do they have to file something with the state/FDA/other government agency?

I ask because it seems some headshops sell such shitty kratom, it has to be impossible a government agency of some sort approved of it.  And the prices are usually through the roof.

Not that I buy kratom from headshops, I'm just curious about the finer points them doing it.

They buy from wholesalers (but I suspect that most headshops don't buy in quantities large enough to get a good price) and then sell it for an incredible mark up.  And no, the FDA is not at all involved.  There's no quality control on krat.

Yeah, I figured FDA wasn't involved as they are targeting the ol' leaf as of late.

So basically it's a wholesale to shelf kind of thing, with the headshop just being the middle man. You think there is any legal paperwork involved at all?

I don't work at a headshop or anything, but I had a friend who did, and while they did not sell krat, you wouldn't believe the kind of shit they could sell without any kind of paperwork.  Spice, bathsalts, etc.  I'm pretty sure there's no kind of paperwork involved in selling krat, no license needed.

You lookin to open up shop or something?
