How many shows did the Grateful Dead use the Wall of Sound?
I'm thinking it was only a tour or two. :eek:

i think the wall of sound showed up in cleveland a couple times in the early/mid 70s...

the disco-mirror-ball was spinning, unnoticed by most, up by the ceiling of cleveland music hall...
as jerry starts to sing, the spotlights hit the ball...
the hall is filled with speckles & shafts of light, swirling through us all...
the music slows down, the ball slows, the swirling slows...
the music stops, the light beams transfix us all...
the ball starts to spin backwards, the musical notes from the band are being played backwards, the hall fills with one scream from 20,000 throats...
and the show goes on...
whew... maybe ya just had to be there, but that's the way i remembaz it...

I have seen the wall a couple of times. But then I was in my 20's in the 70's and raised in Cali.

I saw my first shows in the early to mid 70's maybe 74-75 and it was gone by then.

It was much to costly for the band in those days.
