Bought a breathalyzer

Anyone have any good stories about these things? I plan on getting wasted, playing scrabble, and hooking up the super nintendo. And I got a few kegs of homebrew to drink as well. $50 at the local walgreens is a good deal for perhaps the most fun toy I have purchased in years.

50 bucks for a device that tells you how drunk you are? My gf does that shit for free. No fucking off switch.

I have one too, It's awesome!!!

I have to get it recalibrated after 300 blows, and have probably used it like 30 times this first month.

I mostly got it for fun, but I will definitely be keeping it in my car, too. I would be so fucked if I got a DUI.

Too bad police breathalyzers run on proprietary software that will actually hold up in a court instead of your $50 toy.  If you blow a .05 on your toy even though you know your drunk are you really going to use it as a defense that your breathalyzer said you weren't above the legal limit?

No, of course not. I know it would mean nothing in court, what my breathalyser says. But it cannot hurt to have a general idea based off of its reading.

All true. And also keep in mind that between a .05 and .08 you can still get a DWAI no problem. If you're going to drive, I'd try my best to make sure it's at a 0 pretty consistently. I've gotten a DWAI before and they are no fun either. Unfortunately in my state they never come off your record either. It's there for life. :lol:

But yeah, breathalyzer is smart. Just keep in mind that it isn't completely accurate. Always assume it's showing less than you really have in your blood.
