I finally got around to examining this find and can confirm that they are Panaeolus cyanescens. Very cool find duke.redox :cool:

This is well out of the expected range of Panaeolus cyanesces so I wonder if the cows had recently arrived from a (sub)tropical area. The weather may have been agreeable enough to trigger an aberrant fruiting. It would be interesting to see if they can be found in this location again.


Excuse the shitty photos. My regular camera doesn't like my microscope so I have to use a cheap P&S camera that I can't control focus.
