Sniff vs. snort I think I figured it out.

Over many years of partying and snorting various things I've always wondered if snorting was better then sniffing and when friends would ask me I'd usually say snort. The other day I snorted some opiates for the first time and it went straight into my throat instead of absorbing it through my mucus membrane. So if you have super clear nostrils you have to slowly sniff to be able to absorb a good amount through your mucus membrane before the drip. On the other hand if your congested, snorting is the best option because otherwise it won't absorb as well and doesn't drip much.

I'm not sure if this is right but that's my theory on it.

I always blow my nose.  Snort a bunch of water clean everything out get the remainging water out.  Once I am about to do the line I slowly sniff and proggress into a nice snort so I evenly cover it all.  Never done me wrong.

Sometimes blowing your nose isn't enough(at least for me). However cleaning your nose out with water probably is what clears it out.

this is a question that i have put considerable thought and energy into.

i don't have any hard data, but i believe sniffing is the way to go, with the aim to have the substance sit at the top of your sinuses for as long as possible.

I suppose a lot of people ask me this because I've always had more experience with it, so I've had some time to mull it over.

I have done an awful lot of Cocaine in my life, snorted many many Oxy's, and God knows what else. I'm not bashing your question, just answering it honestly. I have never nor have I heard anyone else think of those two words as different actions, more just different terms for the same action. Could be wrong though.

Yeah I think only in certain cases with inflamed or congested nostrils is snorting better because with a congested nostril it's hard to get the powder to the top of your nostril.

yes that is also my conclusion, like when your sinuses are inflamed because you've been snorting too many drugs and then lines just sit in there for like 30 minutes and then you do another line and they both hit you at once and its just like WHOOAOOAA

I see where you're coming from and for a long time I thought they were the same but I realized you can gently sniff something or snort it fast&hard making a sound a little like a pig snorting.

Lol exactly it cakes up and you have to keep snorting to try and get it to drip ect. One time I had some k right before a feat and didn't really feel it, then I snorted some MDMA and they both hit me :crazy:
