Attn: Help Save Kratom!

I've been in contact for the past several months with my wholesale Kratom supplier from Indonesia about the FDA's role in preventing shipments from entering the USA, and the news is not good.

As I'm sure most of you have seen in the past couple years, new private vendors in the US are popping up every single day due to the exponential growth and demand for this plant, as well as their processed products and extracts. I've not only seen this on the shroomery, but just about everywhere else online.

Now the problem that arises from this is that new private vendors are importing and selling Kratom as a supplement meant to be taken orally instead as of incense which had been the case since 1994. Since this has been the case, the FDA now has the authority to seize without conviction any shipments coming in from outside of the US.

If you are a person such as myself that either uses this plant medicinally, or even as a recreational outlet, it won't be around much longer if things keep going the way they are.

I strongly suggest anyone here that orders Kratom from a US based vendor that is selling it as a consumable supplement to immediately switch vendors to one that distributes it legally as incense. It would truly be sad to have this wonderful plant scheduled as an illegal substance. So help support the cause, discuss, and :peace:

Yes, well they are already being affected. The main US vendor that I deal with based out of Illinois has had three big shipments already seized. Two from Indonesia and one from Malaysia.

Luckily I have not, but I also haven't ordered since the Import Alert came out.

This is what happens when people see a growing market for something, become greedy, and see the profit of selling a substance as something that catches the FDA's attention without care for others that have been doing this for years.

It's just sad.

Well you better stock up and I do mean stock up. I can see a ban coming on in the next year if all this propaganda meets congress. It just takes a bunch of angry moms screaming THINK OF THE CHILDREN and boom -1 drug for us adults.

I agree it's probably just a matter of time. Although there had been some success in keeping it legal recently (Arizona) and has recently been decriminalized in Thailand.

I think so. I remember I wrote a letter to some representatives back when they were trying to ban it in AZ. A vendor was trying to get as many testimonials together as possible and it seemed to work.

Yea Uzziel, I think it might be too late considering the growing popularity. I hadn't seen anything about it on TV, but the fact that you have is even more disturbing.

Do you have any links to local news stations that have reported on this?

I feel like I'm gonna see a Dateline report in the upcoming months saying something along the lines of "Parents be ware: Kratom is the new bath salts, and it has already caused numerous deaths." :facepalm: It just pisses me off so much how capitalism seems to ruin a great thing, but doesn't it always?

It seems like the awesomeness might be over before you know it ac1dhead. I agree with stocking up such as I have, but not from Asian wholesalers because it'll only add to the problem. Once again, I urge you to stock up if that's your plan from US based vendors selling it as incense.

I know this is 2 years old, and I'm far too lazy to go through the news, but youtube has a bunch of videos from KXAN and other news networks spreading bullshit.

Due note this video is 2 years old though, but I saw another one similar to this not that long ago in the morning news.

No worries Uzzi. That news report was down right ignorant, but nothing that I didn't expect. With all the head shops selling it now, it's only getting worse by the day.

I posted this thread to try and help the cause since there are so many members here that have recently discovered this wonderful plant.

Looks like it's time for us to start planting Mitragyna Speciosa trees in our backyards.
I'm going to order a few saplings this afternoon.

I just so happened to look up at the sponsored vendor ads here, and even worldseedsupply.com which advertises constantly on the shroomery (a very good vendor in the past) is now selling Kratom, sub-par Kratom at that, through their sister site kratomcollection.com.

I love this site and forum. I know it needs to generate revenue through ads, but that website is adding to the downfall of Mitragyna speciosa in the US.

Just look at the pictures of their product! It's almost beige in color. A high alkaloid, fresh milled, and correctly stored powdered leaf should be a very dark green. That just makes me upset. :frown:

I honestly have no idea if it will be scheduled or if it'll remain a "drug of concern" as the FDA puts it. It's pretty much in the same grey area as most RC's are at this point. Which is ridiculous considering the danger of certain RC's to Kratom.

What I do know is that it's been illegal in Indiana and Louisiana for a couple years. I believe distribution within the US will remain legal besides those 2 states for the foreseeable future.

I guess it really comes down to when the DEA intervenes, which will most likely happen, but I don't have any rigid timeline as to when that would happen. Most likely sooner than later though. :frown:

Dear President Obama,

Ever since my son met Kratom he has changed. I remember every day of his life, from the first time I looked in his eyes to the last time he was still himself. He has always been a good kid. How such a kid could be so smart and motivated has always shocked everyone. Up until the 11th grade he had nothing but straight As, and even volunteered to take care of the elderly on his weekends when he wasn't smoking marijuana and tripping out on LSD. He was such a great kid and miss him very much.

Now he's a different person. He doesn't go to school, he's unmotivated. The doctors think he may have developed a new form of contagious schizophrenia. When he's not having him bail him out of jail, he's injecting Kratom. I don't know where this snuck up on us, but I don't know what to do. We've done everything from smoking dabs with him to growing psychedelic mushrooms but nothing seems to be working. With every method we try he just seems to go back to injecting this horrible deliriant. When he  injects kratom, he doesn't know where he is, he can't walk, even occasionally releases his bowels. Then once he "comes up", nothing but chaos and a night of hell ensues. We once caught him trying to peel his own face off in the shower.

This is why I think Kratom may actually more dangerous than PCP, bath salts, or even these new "N-bombs" going around. Kids are dropping like flys, dying from brain explosions and falling asleep while falling or driving. Something needs to be done, Mr. President, because it's not long before all of our children are dying from Kratom.

It's seriously pissing me off that they want to take away my medicine. One that's been use for centuries at that.We need to decide what we can do to help save this plant.



I hope I can find some kratom cuttings soon.
