Yeah trucks are nice. Even if you don't use the bed that often, it's there when you need it.

i use my truck to carry lots of shit.  last summer i made 4 HUGE raised bed gardens.  just filled my box with black soil and brought it home.

cant do that in no car

Unless u dont home renos or construction/carpentry or pull boats or campers they aren't needed.  they ARE harder on gas then a 4 banger car for sure

Trucks are nice to have. I have my work truck and my personal 300. I was just trying to show op how to beat the salesman at their own game

I'm getting rid of my 5.9litre gas hog truck because I'm moving and will have an hour commute each way...

But yeah... I need to establish credit, but have always been a cash only kind of guy.

I'll be putting 8 to 11 down, but don't need a super expensive car. I want to finance some to get credit going, but don't want to get in too far.

Does it make a difference with credit if I borrow 2000 or 7000 and pay it back properly?
Would it increase my credit to pay back 2 as much as it would 7?

The amount of the loan for sure has something to do with your credit, i.e. the more you need to be loaned the better your credit must be.

If your only goal is to increase credit, the more payments the better (i.e. smaller payments over longer time). However, the more payments you have, the more its gonna cost you overall in the long run.

I would say try to shoot for middle ground, don't borrow as much as humanly possible but dont put down as little as possible

How common or uncommon is it for used car dealers to include tax title and license fees?

Always, TT&L is always tied in to your loan

Where do you live?

Florida.

It's also worth noting I work at a dealership, and can get any used car at trade-in value. For example, someone gets low balled on a luxury trade in, that's the price I pay to buy it, no markups.

I have an Audi A6 quattro. Love it. Stupid luxurious interior, conquers snow with ease, plenty of grunt, gigantic trunk. If I had to get a new car it'd be a audi tt, a4 1.8t, or jetta gli most likely.

I would suggest a jetta gli, golf gti, audi a4 1.8t or audi a6.

Have fun

Oh, obvious stuff - take it to a reputable shop for pre purchase inspection. Carfax. Test drive. Be thorough. Pay in CASH for discount/leverage. Blahblahblah.

I really like VW engineering, but I'm torn between a Jetta that's 3 years old or an A4/6 that's 6 years old.

I can walk into work and tell them to find me a specific car, it's just deciding what car that is, and I'm an extremely picky person.

Why would anybody in Florida want a 4 wheel drive luxury car?

I thought somebody was asking what kind of car they should get.  Why would anybody waste money on 4 wheel drive in Fla?

I just got a 2006 Civic, just about loaded minus premium wheel and moon roof.
12,750 miles!! From an old lady who needed to get rid of it. They had it as their "3rd car".
Flawless body, for $11k....over 1,000 under bluebook.

Anything to warn me about?
Mine is an LX...
I just can't believe how clean it is and how low the mileage is.
