Even if he DOES need it, he doesn't think so. It's fucking pointless to force someone to go to rehab. If they are unwilling to get sober, you can't make them.

It doesn't matter what other people think, it's OP's life, an he's giong to do what he will regardless of other people.

However, in this case it does matter what other people think, cas his father is making him go...

So perhaps during his stay there he may learn something.  People don't spend money on treatment for people that don't need it. There is also a screening process before they accept you to any substance abuse program.  People get sent to treatment because somebody cares about you and wants to see you do better. He has much more to benefit by going and participating, potentially turning his life around for the better, than by not going. Its a month in rehab talking about your feelings, not a jail sentence.

I went into rehab myself for opiate and benzo addiction I just couldn't kick,  this past thanksgiving and got out a few days before Christmas...
I just turned 26 a couple weeks ago , however the decision to go wasn't so much as mine to make as it was my parents threatening to cut me off from their lives entirely. So I went. Met a LOT of amazing people and turns out rehab actually changed my life completely for ghe better in ways I didn't think possible.
Do it. You won't regret it. You've got nothing to lose.
Best of luck my friend, if I can do it anyone can.

Was this after you passed out drunk and your dad picked up your cell only to discover LSD deals in your message box? Sounds like you do need some help, your dad pays your cell phone and provides a roof over your head. He's only looking out for you.

Did you look at the bill they charged you? Or possibly your insurance?

These people aren't in it to save lives they're in it to make a buck. And they don't make any extra money for helping you kick the habit. You're being naive, his dad is about to blow 50k on something that ain't gonna do shit.

There is nothing about the industry that incentives positive outcomes.

Hey OP, make the old man proud. No matter how bad it sucks he's doing it because he loves and cares for you. Go in to it with an opened mind and take everything you can from it. It sucks but who knows it may be a good thing to do.

It won't be bad, you will have a schedule and a routine to keep but that's ok. Have fun and learn something about yourself you didn't know. Try to see how and why even a little drug use is effecting your relationship with your dad. Worst case scenario is you make your dad proud and come out with a better head on your shoulders.

OP Rehab is a great place if your an addict, but if your not it's fucking useless.

If I were you I would do some heroin right before hand, so you fail a drug test and have them put you on suboxone for withdrawal :thumbup:

at least then it will be alittle more bearable


Obviously you are an addict if you think you have to be doped out to get through rehab.

Alexestalx, it's a good decision to go to rehab if your dad wants you to. 
Doing this will only strengthen your relationship with him and it'll become healthier.
If you don't have a drug problem then you have nothing to worry about, just go and try to enjoy your experience.
