Hes stopped going to school, cant go a day without smoking, been smoking since he was a kid, has been binging on coke and heroin and most importantly he thinks he has a problem and might need rehab. You're advice - just stop for a couple days, you dont need rehab.

Thats fucking nothing man... Of course you would say that rehab is not needed.

It sounds like he's stopping school for rehab.
He didn't ask about coke or heroin, this thread has nothing to do with that, it's rehab for his weed.

Thank you.
If there's one thing I've learned in my life, it's that mental illness isn't something to pussyfoot with. And IMO/IME addiction is a very serious mental illness that is almost always comorbid.

This thread = full of denial.
Sure but the best is to learn to control herb and NOT BE LAZY! I feel the urge to smoke marijuana too and while I mostly fulfill that craving I can easily go without it, and I've smoked a year straight. For me the first two days completely without weed were actually pretty bad and I was surprised by how much of an affect it had on me especially when conversing with my coworkers during the first 2-3 days. I was much more negative and quite angry most of the time, and I am normally not like that at all; I guess it caused a bad mood swing. I guess that means I'm not at addict, but I agree with some of the negative stuff people are saying.
I smoke before: work, rock climbing, tennis, running, and sex
A good sativa just gives a uplifting head high and the indica knocks me out at night.

yeah, as far as rehab goes, I think the success rate is better if you actually want to be there. Like, you don't want to be addicted, maybe still smoke, but remove the dependency.

I know how you feel dude, weed can become very habit forming.
Go to rehab, and at least learn some skills so you can handle this lifestyle a little easier.
Rehab may not, " cure " your cannabis addiction so to speak; but it will give you skills that you can use to make your life alot easier.
Good luck to you bro, Bless.

i smoke weed because i can and it makes me feel better. i know that i won't always be able to and i'll have to stop every day smoking eventually. i'm completely cool with that. but i cant imagine not being sober a day in my life since 14... just- damn! haha. in this situation, the adjustment could seriously be hard.

People definitely do fuck up their lives by choosing to smoke entirely too much weed, and it's not always as easy as sucking it up for 3 days. THAT is absurd.
He didn't say he fucked up his life, you guys are reading into it too much... till he comes in and describes all the problems weed has caused, I'm just going to assume he wants to stop smoking because frankly 7 years of everyday would be very old by now (boring tolerance patterns wasting money).
If he hasn't had a break yet since he was 14yo, don't diss my method, there has already been multiple people in this thread that agree a few days is all that is needed.
If he has serious problems, rehab might be needed, but he did not specify that in his post... he might just want to have a break (short or extended) and feels like he's unable to take the first step.
He's fucking going to rehab.... DING DING DING --- Big Problemo. Quote:

QFT
This is one of the main reasons (IMO) that drugs need to be legalized and regulated
of all the studies done on weed, the worst affects were on those people that used while they were still in their teens
Thats one of HPI's main problems IMO he has been abusing amps since he was 12 or 13 now he has trouble simply living a normal life
all drugs should be legal for anyone over the age of 21

So why get VERY high? Why not save your money and lungs and risk the legal trouble? If life is the same as you say it is, how is getting VERY high every single waking moment of your life better than not?

Atheist. Why exactly are you quitting the weed? What kind of negative impacts is it having on your life? I hope you are still reading this thread, it turned into a major shit show.

feel free to pm me if you wish, i was in a similar situation and went to rehab, and now i use drugs and alcohol recreationally as opposed to every day.
i probably smoke weed twice a month, and drink once a week...
it's a lot better when you do it less often, the high is better, and you get a buzz easier.
but once you start doing a substance every day, you forget how to live without it. especially since youve been doing it for so long and since you were so young.
Usually, I say. "just fucking quit! stop whining"
but these circumstances are different.
