Actually, we have way too many police where I live. It's seriously kind of ridiculous. We've got this epic Force, something like 500 employees, with the latest technology, with a SWAT van, a Ford Interceptor, and a fleet of cruisers. Their jurisdiction comprises less than two square miles.

It's the constitutional way of looking at it... I think that the way we see things is important. If we start to truly believe that rights are distributed at gunpoint, it will inevitably come true. We must EVANGELIZE the GOOD NEWS in the CONSTITUTION, brotha! I have no doubt that you are intelligent enough to realize that rights are only violated at gunpoint, but it never hurts to be safe. :cheers:

First off....I am not disputing that Morsi was a fundamentalist with radical stifling ideas that was a embarrassment to the democratic process. But, fact is, he was elected by the people...so he had something that the majority of voters liked. So, if what you are saying holds true for everyone then Obama should have been removed by the military for instituting Affordable healthcare because it wasn't popular??
That's crap...the thing we need to be concerned about is WHY would they elect him in the first place....something is broken. This military installed government is wayyy broke and will eventually fail as history usually proves.

I'm not trying to match wits with political science majors here ...you will surely win, I just read the papers and try to figure where the truth lies.I do know that nothing I said was not true.
My fighter jet comment was made to make note that the current military and ruling party is using hardware provided by us (to Mubarek) back when they were a reliable political ally and necessary for keeping peace in the region. I know or at least hope that we are not currently supplying the new regime with weapons.

Nothing I said is either mis or disinformation...I never said we are currently funding their military...just that they are using our stuff and that is scary.

Lol, as far as that comment goes...I have had people VERY close in my life die defending our democratic values even though those values were misguided as a result of misinformation at the time. I do not try to make the USA look bad....our leaders seem to do that consistently and without effort. The fundamentals we have are still the best in the world, I think it is up to us to point out when those fundamentals are being compromised.

Morsi was elected in the first place because the Egyptians rushed an election and the Muslim Brotherhood was the only entity with any organization left.

I am saying that there was no organized opposition because they rushed the election.

Was that really that difficult to get from my original post?  There sure was organized opposition after he got elected, though.

Although I do not accept your characterization of the support as perfunctory I reiterate that they still supported him.

The Muslim Brotherhood is much more than a political organization.  It is a group of vile fascist religious thugs and terrorists.  Anybody who belongs to the Muslim Brotherhood is an asshole by definition.  But that has nothing to do with my point.  These 529 assholes does not constitute humanity.  It may be a crime against them and it certainly seems more like a treason trial but to call this a crime against humanity is ludicrous at best.
