Gourmet species that work with BRF method?

Hey all, I've been doing hours and hours of research on this site, learning how to grow psilocybe cubensis mushrooms. I've had successful grows with the PF Tek, and with bulk coir substrate in a mono tub. I now want to grow gourmet mushrooms like shiitake, maitake, and reishi, i.e. super mushrooms that have basically been proven to fight cancer.

But when I looked at the gourmet section of this site - DOOM! Firstly, it is very small... Secondly, in the shiitake section there's only information about outdoors growing, and a single sentence on cultivating on sawdust bricks indoors...

So, are there any gourmet strains at all that can be cultivated with the knowledge I've already amassed, i.e. with BRF (ideally) or grain, and then coir or poo?

It seems like it's a whole different discipline entirely, but if there are any other species that will grow using the inexhaustible techniques presented on this site on growing cubes... that would be awesome.

You found the right place.  The main site is old and hasn't been updated for years.  What you're looking for is in this forum.

Most species will grow on brf cakes, but not in usable quantities. Brf cakes are for learning, not production. Lots of homegrowers are using sawdust fuel pellets.  Do a few searches and maybe a some guys will put up some links.

Well first of all the FAQ and Header information is wildly out of date and not representative of the information in the GMM sub-forum. A basic search will uncover endless data on all the cultivatable species. 

Secondly BRF isn't even a efficient method of growing P. cubensis.  If you can grain spawn to bulk coir then you can do grain spawn to lipa's pellet tek. 

Most edibles have much greater need of FAE so focus your efforts into coming up with a proper fruiting space.
