ID PLEASE, weird little shroom

I went out hunting today, this would be my second time, (i just started) and i found these little shrooms popping out of some rotting wood, just wondering what they where, heres the list:
A. Growing off of a moist rotting log.
B. Gills are white and attached.
C. The cap is about 1 Cm. and the stem is about 2.5 Cm.
D. The stem was a darker brown, and when squeezed a water like substance came out, no smell and not sticky.
E. The cap was also a brown just a little lighter then the stem.
F. Working on a sporeprint.
G. Seemed not to bruise any color, it possibly might have bruised a dark brownish red but hard to tell.
H. I did not notice a scent.

heres a picture of it, (sorry for the quality of this one) and a picture of where i found it.  Also i have gone out hunting two times so far and i know thats not very many, but the only ones i am finding seem to always be very small and growing off of dead wood in forests, if anyone has any tips about finding them in feilds or anything, i'm all ears.

That looks like a Mycena of some sort. Let us know about the spore print.

Are any parts of it slimy or sticky?

none of it was sticky, when i squeezed the stem the juice was slimy but not sticky, its probably not active but if it is, tell me;), and thanks again for the help.

Definitely not active. Most of the Mycenas are unknown. Some of them are known to have muscarine, which is a pretty unpleasant toxin. It won't kill you, but you'll get waaay sick for an evening.
