weird shroom, i need help with identification..

I live in ontario and this shroom i have just found was out of the ordinary...it was about 2 inches tall...cap was 1 inch in diameter..cap was bright red with a bit of bluing in the center..stem might of been hollow im not sure, but it was a yellowish orange stem color...the gills were like a mix color with brown and the same as the stem... What really got my eye is that the shroom was bluing...im just curious if the shroom i found is active or not..can u guys help out and gimme a idea of what u think it might be pleease thanks.. o ya and im 100% sure it wasent in the amanita species cause like i said it was bluing. and sorry i dont have a pic im getting a digi cam soon, and i havent took a spore print yet..

Did it realy had gills ? Wich pattern ?

Try to break it apart and see if some orange liquid comes out of wound.
If it does then it is a milk cap (Lactarius sp.). Some of them are orange with greenish/bluish spots.

no man the shroom i found was not in clusters..just 2 of them alone apart aboout 5 inches...o ya i just mesured them and it was 2 inches tall by the cap was 4cm....the shrooms look verry poisenous or something and they were verry verry bright red and orage.....uhm they were small shrooms with pointy caps at the center...they were extremely bright in color,,,when handled they bruise blue...yes they had gills and ill check next time to see if any orange liquid come out of its woonds....gills are .......i forget how u call it but there like gills on psilocybe silvaticas...

what was the habitat? i'm kinda stumped here but it sounds interesting. do your best to get pictures. and take a spore print.

uhm the habbitat was in a lawn..not manured though..... uhm ya it did look like that shroom in the pic but reder and brighter...but not as narrow as the one in the pic but almost...

WEll your mushroom is not Psilocybe silvaticus. They grow in woodchips and bark mulch in clearcuts in late November to December in thePNW, and New York and Finland and Russia.
