    #1950286 - 09/25/03 04:14 AM (13 years, 2 months ago)

i know mold loves old coffee grounds... i wonder if you could use it as a nutrient rich compost? like the stuff you throw away from your coffee maker...

Starbucks keeps a huge plastic trash bag full of spent espresso grounds, right underneath the hole in the countertop where they hit with the tamp. Just go in and ask if they have any available to give away. I used to work there so I know.

This experiment has been done before by multiple people. Do a search if you're interested. It didn't work at all. You can grow certain species of mushrooms on coffee grounds, but I hear its a crappy substrate even for those species. Cubensis does not like it one damn bit.
