What is your take on horoscopes? believe in them or not?

I am interested in how many shroomerites believe or do not believe in horoscopes, but most importantly, WHY?!
here is my take on it: I think they are fake. They are all written in such a general way that they are all at least partially true for everybody. To coax people into the whole charade.
thoughts?

Shit is always accurate for me and my wife. Can't explain it, guess I'm not even looking for an answer to be honest.

It's accurate for everyone. It's so intentionally vague.

how do people still not use STAL
I think certain kinds of horoscopes might possibly be ever so slightly predictive
99.9% of the ones you encounter, no
this is the only material i have encountered on the subject that I have been able to take somewhat seriously.

the whole practice is pretty pointless even if it's possible though, in my opinion, because I believe in free will.

its an ancient science which is now considered a pseudoscience thanks to the newspaper. the newspapers and magazines only give you a horoscope with your SUN sign. While the sun sign is important there's also 9 different planets that make a shit ton of aspects with each other. not to mention it's complex and hard to understand.

Of course, typically speaking neither my wife or daughters are ever as accurate as my own. Still can't call it fact, nor do I wish to discuss it's credability.

what doesn't make sense to me is how someone would originally discover how this all works.
Like, how would you know what positions of planets or planets themselves have what effects? and on which people? what?
"If the planet is in this position, you will be more adventerous." what??

according to tarnas, that isnt how it works. the planets dont have effects on us. it's just there is a microcosm/macrocosm correlational effect that can be studied mathematically. he uses a system of archetypes to discuss the behavioral manifestations that result. most of the book is a historical study; ie on this date in history the heavenly bodies formed these angles relative to each other, and these events happened, showing that the events are classifiable according to the archetypes he has defined and follow a pattern throughout history as the same macrocosmic rientations repeat
this is an example of one of his number charts with the archetype symbols for a particular person, based on when/where she was born and the macrocosmic orientation at that moment relative to her
