What is your take on horoscopes? believe in them or not?

I am interested in how many shroomerites believe or do not believe in horoscopes, but most importantly, WHY?!
here is my take on it: I think they are fake. They are all written in such a general way that they are all at least partially true for everybody. To coax people into the whole charade.
thoughts?

Shit is always accurate for me and my wife. Can't explain it, guess I'm not even looking for an answer to be honest.

It's accurate for everyone. It's so intentionally vague.

how do people still not use STAL
I think certain kinds of horoscopes might possibly be ever so slightly predictive
99.9% of the ones you encounter, no
this is the only material i have encountered on the subject that I have been able to take somewhat seriously.

the whole practice is pretty pointless even if it's possible though, in my opinion, because I believe in free will.

its an ancient science which is now considered a pseudoscience thanks to the newspaper. the newspapers and magazines only give you a horoscope with your SUN sign. While the sun sign is important there's also 9 different planets that make a shit ton of aspects with each other. not to mention it's complex and hard to understand.

Of course, typically speaking neither my wife or daughters are ever as accurate as my own. Still can't call it fact, nor do I wish to discuss it's credability.

what doesn't make sense to me is how someone would originally discover how this all works.
Like, how would you know what positions of planets or planets themselves have what effects? and on which people? what?

according to tarnas, that isnt how it works. the planets dont have effects on us. it's just there is a microcosm/macrocosm correlational effect that can be studied mathematically. he uses a system of archetypes to discuss the behavioral manifestations that result. most of the book is a historical study; ie on this date in history the heavenly bodies formed these angles relative to each other, and these events happened, showing that the events are classifiable according to the archetypes he has defined and follow a pattern throughout history as the same macrocosmic rientations repeat
this is an example of one of his number charts with the archetype symbols for a particular person, based on when/where she was born and the macrocosmic orientation at that moment relative to her

stands for Sir Toke A Lot. as the story goes, from what I've been told, Sir Toke a Lot was was a member who used to always complain that none of the poll options applied to him. so polls began to include an option called STAL just for him. even though hes not around anymore, we still use it for people who dont like any of the available options. dont know if the story is true or not

They aren't the same nor are they vague. They're very obvious. Water and fire are both ruled by emotions. Water is internal emotion(they keep to themselves and want their friends to do all the talking. These people will attempt small talk for u not to see how insecure they are) and fire is external, burning all in its path(they're passion and will express themselves to anyone and everyone, especially about themselves, fire will always believe in themselves and if no one has their backs, they'll do it themselves). Earth and air are analytical and won't let emotions cloud their judgement. Earth is homely and internally analytical (they will always improve themselves and although they attempt to improve others and the world, they'll have a tough time expressing themselves enough for people to understand them. Because of this they're bound to home). Air is very scattered thought. Thinking is like breathing (air is wisdom and they won't stop OVERthinking everything, this sign is amazing at changing their world. They will ALWAYS be able to change peoples opinions, especially those who's emotions have clouded their judgement since they're so good at expressing themselves). Overall air and fire don't shut up, water and earth don't talk nearly as much. Because of this air and fire are best for each other whereas water and earth are best for each other.
Every element is put into either mutable fixed or cardinal. Mutable is the sign of acceptance. Mutable people are the ones who listen to others and never make their own decisions without first looking at the group (mutables would accept the drug laws). Fixed is stuck in their ways. They are the ones who would like things to stay the same. They're determined and will always see a project til the end. A cardinal is the instigator. They will make new ideas for the fixed people to see through til the end. The cardinal will ALWAYS recover first if all things have gone bad. They will always progress forward with innovation. Even if they don't see a project til the end they'll have a new project lined up because of their ingenuity.
If ur cardinal u were born at the beginning of a season. Fixed is mid season and mutable is end season. The fire and air signs will be opposites. Ex. Leo (fire fixed) is mid summer whereas Aquarius (air fixed) is mid winter. These 2 signs would be considered best for each other. As ud guess water and earth will be opposites.

i mainly get along with air signs, for whatever reason.
could be because of my progressed sun in gemini, or maybe my progressed moon in sag. progresions always bring different kinds of people into my life that i've noticed.

Air rocks. Fire signs are pretty damn egotistical lol. They're just kinda like who the fuck are you? But when comfortable I've never had act any differently. At least they're pretty accepting and warm. I do love Taurus. They're pretty welcoming
