I need advice

I just got into a car accident because the Haldol Im on made me nod out at the wheel...can someone please tell me if its safe to stop doing this medication instantly or do I need to ween off? ive been on it for 3 weeks now. its already fucking my life up beyond belief and I want to stop. im also on 2 other meds that im going to instantly stop unless an experienced person here tells me otherwise.

these are the 3 meds 'they' have me on

benztropine

fluphenazine

risperidone

one of those is the Haldol

There's a conundrum right there, but I would talk to the doctor before cutting off medicine if it was going to come to that.

I'd check with your GP man... If you can get an Aussie proxy we have free medical advice online from real doctors.

I'm not sure about the Haldol. Kind of an intense med to be on, though. Is it for a bipolar diagnosis?

Also, how many mg's of Risperdal do you take daily?

Relatives using these pharms claimed to have a rebound effect, once they had acclimatized to them.

for risperdal I stopped taking it slowly over the course of a week

just a dumb drug that doesn't solve any problems besides what to do all day, which is most likely sleep :lol:

It is likely you won't notice much rebound from going cold turkey having only been on it 3 weeks, but I would guess you will still feel a little more manic for a couple days.

You need to talk to your doc, this should never happen again.

Stop for a day and see how you feel. You should be alright though. Weening off isnt a terrible idea. However you may want to consider the adverse/side effects of risperidone though. I wouldnt stop taking it, as the withdrawals could be dangerous, but you may consider taking something else or talk to your doctor about it.
