Making Ethernet Cable question

So I made some Ethernet cables (straight through, cross-over) and with the RJ-45 jacks. Even after crimping the jacks, there is still space inside the jack it's self. I've noticed that proffesionally made Ethernet cables have this spacing filled up with some kind of plastic resin.
Anyone know what that's called so I can buy some to fill these ones up?
Thanks!

I would think 5 minute epoxy would get the job done.

Okay I'll check it out. I'm just worried about acidic chemicals as I don't want them to damage the wires or connectionsi.

Don't worry about filling those connectors up; it's completely unnecessary.

It's unnecessary, but overtime with pulling them in and out of the ethernet ports, they can come loose. These are going to be primarily used for patch panels, but I want to use them for home use.

Maybe use some hot glue?

Hot glue would probably melt the jacket around the individual wires.

I'm not risking breaking these cables.

lol ok. then don't mess with it. I installed wifi and punched down entire apartment buildings and never filled the backs. If you have the tools and connections then just replace it if it wears out.

We would buy 1000' boxes and cut it to length. One job took around 24.

All of the Ethernet cables in my house are made by me. The retaining wedge in the jack has been enough to keep any of them from failing. The clip that keeps the jack in the socket however do fail all the time, so I recommend using sleeves on future projects..

I wouldn't be too concerned about it. The retainer inside the UTP plug, when it is crimped correctly, will lock the cable in place firmly. I've made UTP cables for >10 years and I have never had one come loose from the connector.
