Ceran wrap lid during colonization.(Monotub)

Hey all, Getting ready to start my monotub, sterilizing spawn jars now :laugh: I just had a question.  The tub i have had a big chunk missing out of the lid because i dropped something on it, so i just cut the center of the lid out, Now i know you arent supposed to add ceran wrap to the lid until fruiting but i think i would have too, if not, then what to i do? Im following  TranscendingLife's Mono-tub setup. thanks :p

Add the wrap under the lid and don't open it until its fully colonized. And don't put your light directly above it you only want ambient light during colonization

So just tape the ceran wrap on as if i was about to fruit it correct? And thanks :smile:

Correct and keep your holes taped until its colonized. The extra hole you made on top will only allow a little more light in and that won't affect the colonization in a negative way

I never heard of putting saran wrap on your mono to fruit.

If anything just patch the hole and make sure you are not getting FAE through it while colonizing.

When you dont have a clear lid you are supposed to tape on ceran wrap so it can get light, because the tub itself is opaque.:thumbup: But alright thanks guys

I see, yes just do that. Saran wrap does not do anything but gas exchange. You will not get FAE from saran wrap.
