Saran Wrap the casing tray=good idea?

My foaf is wondering if they should place a sheet of saran wrap over their casing tray. Their concerned because their terrarium does not have a very tight lid and has several places where humidity can escape. They just cased yesterday. So far they've followed the 50/50+ tek. Will saran wrap help keep the humidity up? Thanks. -Phil

if it was just cased yesterday it should go back in the incubator, until it is about 20% colonized .puncture the seran wrap a few times with a fork for gas exchange .when its ready to induce pinning it can be covered loosely, but you should fan 3-4 times a day . good luck with that .

I dislike Saran Wrap for 1 reason When you take it off it drips all over the place. What is ur terrarium made of? What are you adding humidity with?

the local homeless guy told me that if you saran wrap and make only a few incisions for air, you don't need a terrarium at all because it will keep the humidity up. and then as it starts pinning you simply take off the saran wrap, and the moisture will stay moist for the fruiting cycle.....or so he says, any other thoughts on that?

my foaf is using a large tupperware box about the size of a carboard box for his terrarium. the problem is that the lid is made up of two half lids that are on hinges and meet in the center. this system leaves space especially by the hinges. i'm not sure what you mean when you say they should go back in the incubator. what incubator? as of right now the casings are in the terrarium sitting on top of a layer of perlite with no saran wrap.

an incubator, is a dark worm place . should be around 84*F if foaf doesn't have an incubator, tell him to cover it with aluminum foil for a few days, meanwhile he could try to seal the terrarium up with packaging tape, or put a big plastic bag over it .
