Dont let the hose blow directly on the cake...you should bury it (the hose) in a pile of WET perlite in the terrarium..that way you get fresh HUMIDIFIED air. If the hose blows on the cake directly, it will dry out. Cant get perlite? then: poke 2 holes in a jar lid..one for the hose. Fill the jar with water, put the lid on, put the hose in one of the holes..YAY! its sorta loud which is bad.

anybody tried puting an air hose through WET perlite? doesn't the perlite right infront of the hose just dry out, thus making it pointless? How big should the wet pile be?

The "pile" should be about the size of your fist... i guess...whatever is big enough...My friend uses this and the pile dries out after about 2- 3 days....when it dries he just dumps a bunch of water on top of the pile making it wet again.

Ok, well he doesnt have perlite, but he did stick the hose into a small glass filled with water, so now at least the air has moisture in it. good enough 'till he gets some perlite in a week or so?[This message has been edited by wharf_rat (edited June 05, 2000).]

I just looked at my profile and realized I had a website at one point in time on geocities, it's not there anymore and I have no idea what I had on it. Anybody remember my website from several years aga? PM if so please.
