MMPI Score
    #18941441 - 10/06/13 05:45 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory is a psychological true or false test which gives an in depth scoring of different personality traits and capabilities of mental illness for different individuals.

I found a free, online version of the MMPI-2 that I have verified to be valid. Remember that there is a difference between validity and accuracy!
If you guys would be willing to take it, I'd be interested in seeing the scores of other individuals on the Shroomery.

It's a fairly long test, with 567 true or false questions, but I think that many could find use in it.

It grades based on the questions you answer, with a scale of 0-120 I believe.

The scores can be found in the first chart below the questions, after you press submit. Under "Scale Description" you will find the names of the attributes which the test is measuring, and the "T Score" is what you will find your score for each attribute under. Begin writing your scores at "Hypochondriasis" an end with "Inability to Disclose". There are some words/phrases under "Scale Description" that appear to be repeated, that is because psychologist/psychologists/therapists/counselors would typically compare the scores to the numbers and letters under "Scale" to actually make assumptions and decisions based on the assumptions.

Here is the test.

Also, if you have taken the Myyers-Briggs Type Indicator Test, please also post your personality type below. Though it is completely alright if you haven't. Feel free to include any other information as well such as ACT/SAT scores, IQs, graduating high school GPA, graduating college GPA, major, current work, etc.

I'll post my results as a reply to the OP, thank you for your time.

mean T-score = 50 ; SD = 10

a T-score of 60 is one standard deviation above the average
a t-score of 40 is one standard deviation below the average

Most all of my t-scores were in the average range, no scores more than 1 standard deviation above or below

highest t-score was disconstraint, which is sort of a catch-all for risk taking behaviors.
lowest scores were shared by imperturbability and irritability.

all in all it's a pretty neat diagnostic tool but I really don't have the training to make sense of everything. some of the concepts have one meaning to me in a layperson way and another for me in a clinical sense. and many i simply have my layperson interpretation which would be incorrect in this context.

Sorry I only take tests with ten or fewer questions.

You mean it wouldn't give you the results, or you're having difficulty interpreting them?
I myself have trouble with interpreting my own, but have figured it out for the most part. I had help from a psychologist with understanding it the first time I took it though, a little over a year ago.

Oh it gave me the results but you would have to be professionally versed in the jargon to be able to do anything with them.  It's like going to an astrologer and they just tell you that your moon is in Virgo and your anus is in flux.  What the fuck does that mean?

 Fair enough. If you read up on the test and how it's developed you might be able to decipher some pieces though.
