Yeah, I lived here as a kid too and I'm back again ironically. I've never really been a fan of Tempe. I don't think I've ever been to East Mesa and I haven't been stung by a bee in years...so I might check that out.

The whole metro-area of Phoenix is pretty grimey IMO, though I wouldn't mind living on the Tempe/Mesa border again, or in Chandler/Gilbert. I wouldn't say it's much grimier than any other very-large city.

That said, I always enjoy visiting over the Winter and look forward to it, and it's always hard to leave. If I wasn't scared to death of Arizona's judicial system, I might actually consider living there again. Until that changes, I'm fine with visiting

Agree completely. Literally laying around all day, all year; kids that don't look a day over 16 panhandling to get high alongside 70 year-olds; Just as much acid and more of everything else (except maybe weed).

You should have found out what the press/logo was! I ate more (good) pressed pills there (phoenix) than anywhere else I've ever lived/been.

I don't have much to say other than what I already said. School and work are probably the easiest way to meet people but there are plenty of others.
Phoenix is huge and has one of the highest percentage of 18-30 year olds if my memory serves me.

You could go to the water park. OR you could go to an (electronic) concert AT the water park (SoundWave?? I think.)
Don't have that option many other places

P.S.
If you haven't lived in a big city before, remember to always be smart/careful. Its not the worst place in the world but its certainly not the best. Lock your ipod in your glove box, etc.
