Some Agaricus campestris right outside my door?
    #18699706 -

Found em in a lawn under some pines.  Been raining almost everyday.

Gills are bright pink on younger specimen, browning on older.  The veil is dettached on anything bigger than inch and a half diameter

Stems are 1.5 to 4 maybe 4 and a half inches long/  Thick, white, meaty, not hollow, only peels if you scratch it really.  Veil clings to a lot of the stems, thin, white, not see through.

Caps button, helmet, penis like.  Rounded/global not pointed at all.  White with slight browning in center and pinkish brownish discoloration near the edges.  Mature specimen left behind had very flattened very brown caps.

Collecting spores now.

No apparent bruising, smells fresh fleshy and earthy, similar to a button mushrrom but without the plastic wrap and store containment.

These are thick meat white mushrooms that smell ok to me.  The pic with many of them was right after a wash, so the gills might seem darker/more crowded than they actually are.  I know the pics suck ass as far as quality but shitty phone, it's all I got.  I just went and collected a lot of the smaller still close capped buttons, in anticipation that I'll be eating some fried mushrooms tonight

It's definitely an Agaricus. But it looks more like Agaricus arvensis to me (from those pictures). Which should smell of aniseed if it is. More so in the younger specimins. Check for bruising both on the stem base and on the cap, and also check for it an hour or 2 later. Check for a cogwheel pattern on the partial veil of any unopened caps. As this is a feature of A. arvensis.

I'm not an expert so i can only go as far as my original suggestion. It's best not to wash them by the way as they soak up water very easily. Better off brushing the dirt off with a brush, or a damp cloth.

Haha, yeah, I used a sprayer, definitely felt like I might be doing it wrong.  Before I've used a toothbrush and water to clean wood grown shrooms, but theese guys were pretty dirty and I wasn't sure.

I know mushrooms waterlog easy thats why sprayer and shake off, really only trying to focus the water on the caps.

It's also worth noting that not everyone can pick up on the odours that mushrooms are claimed to have.

They smell like the kinda shit i wanna throw on a pizza or in a salad maybe eat sauteed with some fish.  Of course you're right, I could just be making the faint smells out to be what I want them to be, but....they smell like good mother earth to me, very similar to portabellos/buttons.

A. campestris should have pink gills even in the closed button stage.

Having said that, I have no confidence in my ability to get you to species.

I go by smell, but I don't find a lot of Agaricus in my area.  Untitled is right that some people can't smell the phenol/paint odor.  To me, it is strongest at the extreme base of the stem after crushing, but I usually don't have a problem smelling it even at the cap.

Hmm, the closed cap and smaller ones gills are lighter in color, but they are surely rose pink light pink, not plain white.

I ate some.  They didn't make me feel great.  But were some other possible factors, like the ipa i was having with them or the fact that I didnt have the grease hot enough so they soaked up a lot of that shit.  I'll probably try a few more, fresh, in a salad maybe, and less than 2.  Felt like shit last night, but only for about 2 hours.  Ate about 3 or 4 handfuls of fried shrooms.
