Shpongle released their digital today and I believe are sending the hard copies today and tomorrow. One listen through and I love it. Kind of went back to Are you Shpongled? In a way.

Oh, gotcha. I like this album much more then the last, perhaps it's because I've been more into ambient and spacey music lately. It's similar in a way, but it doesn't really put anything into my mind. Maybe I should retract that statement. Are you shpongled inspired a lot of beautiful mental imagery.

I'll have to give it a few more listens and make a decision. One go through certainly isn't enough.

I did as suggested and checked my receipt.  I bumbled my way to the album download and have listened to it two or three times through now.

Museum of Consciousness is  not redundant in any way to prior works...but neither is it a complete departure.  There are so many familiar elements.  I LIKE it!!!

Any other opinions???

Awaiting delivery of my CD to boot!

After a few more listens, I must stick to my previous statement at it being sort of a return to their true roots. More along the lines of And the day turned to night song in specific. It seems to be a lot more spacey, and the trippiness comes from the subtleties they throw in. The transitions in the songs are pretty flawless. This may have taken the reign as my second favorite album from them. I wish there was more flute. But beyond that, I find it to be extremely pleasing on the ears. Tried it first with headphones, and second with speakers. :awesome: Gives me goosebumps. I'm glad I purchased this album.

Can't wait to get the album in the mail, I am pretty stoked to see how the lenticular album cover looks in person

Oh. Exquisite. I really enjoy the use of voice/mouth noises on this album. Something very (tribal/primitive?), its outstanding. I think it'll take a bit for me to understand the entire piece.

As its not a spoiler, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the aum namah Shivaya mantra. Museum seems to build on the journeys experienced with previous albums, and the growth of the artists.
Plus, Michele's voice is, as always, hauntingly angelic.

Certainly looking forward to giving it the pharma test.

Edit: certainly happy I sprung for the 24 bit source audio. Impeccable. And it's very comforting to know people here have paid the artist for their work.

I gave it a listen through and I'll probably leave the album on hold until the next trip.  Love hearing things the "first" time on trips.  :goodburger:

The more I listen to it the more I like it, but unlike other shpongle albums there are some parts I really don't like. Like that one song that sounds like a star wars theme. It's also much darker IMO with less shamanic/traditional elements, and elements that resonate more with the "evil dmt-clown" vibe. Cool stuff, but not quite the masterpiece his other works are at least in my opinion
