Throbbing Gristle- Hamburger Lady

This is one of the most unsettling songs ever recorded, imo. The lyrics are from a letter written written by a famous mail artist named Al Ackerman. It's from the view of a doctor treating a severely burned woman.

Throbbing Gristle is some horrid evil brilliant... music...

i'm gonna finish this song, and listen to this unsettling evil... in the meantime, while i am listening... as i've never heard this song by them before... i'll post this one by them, maybe you've probably heard it, but it fits well... this song is really a song about how the world works... only in a sardonic sorta sense where things are meaningless drivel. observe.

*stupid wrong video at first, wow...

PS: yikes, that is freaky. hamburger? ew? tubes in her arms and legs... can't hold anything, have no hands... was she burned in a car accident? who knows what horrible thing happened to her, all i know is she done got fucked up. hamburger lady... hamburger lady... i would love to take this to "OMG i'm tripping!!" thread in PE and just lay this track on a mofo.

That's a great track as well. Haha yeah, bumping some TG while tripping could lead to some pretty nasty situations I imagine.

I tried looking up a transcript of the original letter, but I can't find it. I know it's out there, as I have read it before.

Who is that? It's pretty interesting, a lot more psychedelic sounding than TG.

i can't find anything but the lyrics... how in the hell did this get into circulation, and why?

it already sounds like a bad trip... who requested a letter with such a detestable backstory to be run around and be used in art circles? it's the freakshow, with artists like Throbbing Gristle. the band is brilliant though... they all have their unique fucked-up-edness.

Coil is a sick band with members from TG.

a little more arty then TG.

yeh, even though Fifty Foot Hose doesn't really do that shit alot, the title track of the album, Cauldron, is just... evil, fucked and i've laid it in a few threads where people wanted to hear some "trippy" music. :hehehe: synthetic... sorrow... selfish sorrow, sadistic... sorrow... Cauldron... of sorrows...

it's mostly psychedelic/jazz-rock from the 60's. mostly unheard of... Fifty Foot Hose is clearly on some major drugs though, to be coming up with that insanity.

Crass is awesome. one of the originals... well, non-anarchist "anarchist" punk groups. just pure, gritty and DARK and REALISTIC Punk. not manufactured like alot of punk back in the day was. i haven't heard anything before Penis Envy... so this track is new to me. lot of collagy-type bits. i love that shit. pay no more then 70 P, sweet deal. love old school punk.

is Punk musical art? or is it the opposite?

Minutemen's Double Nickle on a Dime and Fugazi's Repeater, FULL, for reference. is Punk Art? i think it can be.

ALSO CHRISTIAN DEATH

Goth's love art. the gashes in their wrists are art. :emo:

More dark shit. i think that's a good start for this thread. don't need to be so clinical, i suppose it could start with the darker side of this biotch. (NO METAL, lest you be retarded. save that shit.)

Demdike Stare

Nurse With Wound

I find darker music to be more enjoyable to listen to than jovial music. Although there are exceptions to every rule.

This thread has serious potential.

everything is better, a bit darker... darker is realer. not in some convoluted sense that man is evil and darkness is our heart type shit... just that dark... is the absence of light. it's always more interesting.

Cabaret Voltaire

the 80's freak me out.

Foetus

Faith & Disease
