I haven't tried it but I would be concerned about adding anything nutritional to the cakes and its potential to become contaminated. Maybe a good idea to experiment on a few but not all, perhaps even having an isolated terrarium to try it on. Tell us how it works.

that definitely sounds like a good way to contaminate your cakes

Here is what you want to do.... 1. Boil water 2. Add powdered milk and immediatly remove from heat source... 3. Cover and let it cool to room temp... 4. Add H2O2 (1/19th the amount of water you boiled). Try soaking your cakes in this stuff overnight... ThE JafF

Hey jaff, have you really had any luck with milk? It's seemed poor to me in limited experimentation, so I gave it up. How about dropping me an email, cuz I didn't get a reply last time I tried you, got some experimentin to discuss!------------------ -From a registered Mad Scientist "From a certain point of view" -Jedi Master Obiwan Kenobi (also a Mad Scientist tm)

PM me with any cultivation questions.
I just looked at my profile and realized I had a website at one point in time on geocities, it's not there anymore and I have no idea what I had on it. Anybody remember my website from several years aga? PM if so please.

DAMMIT!!!! just when i thought i had an original idea !! good thing i did a search before writing up 'hippie's milk and honey tek' i bet it would work, especially if one carefully rinsed the cake after soaking in such a solution.

i don't know yet for sure. i'm hoping that milk might prove to be a way to both feed and moisten a cake for extra, large flushes. but there isn't any confirmed info out there, i ran across this old thread with a search for 'milk'.------------------ "I want you to trip like I do."

Milk might add some calcium to the cake. Why not just add some water to regular milk, boil it then let it cool and add the H2O2... Wouldn't it be the same thing? This is your shroom on Brains... Any questions? Peace, jat

The powdered milk is good because in processing it, all of the peroxide decomposing enymes have been destroyed making it ideal for a peroxide tek.. You can also make it stronger than regular milk if you want. It is useful in mushroom growing as a protein source.. It provides a good chunk of what growing shrooms need (got milk?), but not everything..Its almost like fertilizer is for plants... It helps but you still need something to provide trace elements... Its probably a bad analogy, but its close.. Whats left of the cake combined with the milk booster will be more than enough to boost the flushes... Plain water will suffice to get a lot more out of a cake like I mentioned in the IN VITRO thread, but when you exhaust that.... try powdered milk.. Set a new record for solid cake flushes.. Not those puny single abort shroom .1 gram flushes you get at the end of a normal pf cakes life span, but real flushes.. You have to beat 11. Plain water will get you to 7 easy. Oh and YES!!! Your right...RINSING is very important after the milk soak, but just rinse, don't go crazy soak it again in water..

cool. thx, opi. i suspected as much. thinking also maybe a teaspoon of honey in that powdered milk/water bath might be beneficial. and if feasible, doing the soak in a refridgerator so the broth won't spoil/ferment. 24 hours in the fridge won't hurt a cake. then the rinse and back into clean jar.
